I just made popcorn, but no, not a bag, I put the kernals in a pot with a dab of cooking oil and unpopped kernals and made it old style, anyone else still do this?
On a regular basis, it's the best way to make popcorn! Sometimes I'll get lazy and use my Airpopper thingy in the microwave, but it's still real unpopped kernals in a bowl that are blown up. Just less fat to start with because there is no oil, so I can put that much more butter and salt on.
yep....got the burnt bottom pans to prove it. (obviously Dave isn't that good at it..even tho he shakes the heck out of the pan) course, we still cave to microwave popcorn when we need it FAST.....I have no patience for said shaking and burning sometimes. AND, we also still cook popcorn in the old fireplace popper during the cold months....now THAT is popcorn at it's best!! nothing like being curled up in front of the fire on a blustery night...making popcorn in the fire...with a fun, silly movie.
Debi .... both of your posts could have been word to word from me !! I wondered if anyone even knew of the old fireplace poppers !!! And yes , those pots never lose their black specks !!
