Hi Guys...

I had a quick question about dog food. I have a 4 month old mini schnauzer pup. I currently have him on Solid Gold Puppy. I was reading up on some info on feeding and nutrition, and the company recommends that we mix the puppy food with the adult food when he turns 6 months old. And continue to feed him that way until he turns 1 year old. When he turns 1 year old, then switch him over to adult food only. My question is...do I have to mix his puppy food with adult food for 6 months when he turns 6 months old? Or can I keep him on the puppy food and just switch him to adult food when he turns 1 year old?

Thanks guys!

You would only mix for a few days, during the transition from one food to another. As long as you choose an adult food labeled as suitable "for all lifestages", there is also no reason to wait with the switch until your dog is a year old.
