My mom seems to think that it's OK to mix canned foods. She currently mixes two different brands of canned foods for the dogs in the morning and then gives them another brand in the evening. Does anyone have any really reliable sites (preferably veterinarian sites) that state that this is not OK? I tried to find a site, but I couldn't find anything good.

If the dogs aren't showing any signs of upset stomach from it, diahrrea, etc. then I don't see why it would be bad. The only thing I could think of is she's using three different brands of food, but again, if the dogs aren't getting sick from it...

What brands are they, do you know?

In the morning, they eat Natural Balance and Royal Canin (for weight loss; one of the dogs is fat) and those are mixed because Jenny, who is a good weight, doesn't like the taste of Natural Balance and will only eat it with Royal Canin, and Andrew is fat and is supposed to eat Royal Canin, but doesn't like it, so he'll only eat it with Natural Balance. They then get Pro Plan in the evening.

Canned food isn't as concentrated as dry food, there isn't really any concern mixing different brands as long as the dog tolerates it.
