After the vet tomorrow I'm heading to the pet store to get some new food for Tinker (6 yr old toy Poodle) I'm going to get some Evo and was thinking of also getting some cans of Canidae. My thought was to mix a little wet with the dry in case she doesn't want to eat the dry with water. She is very picky.

Thanks!

Go for it. Mix away!!! (There is another thread on this. Nutritionists from Eagle Pack, Canidae, and Natural Balance all confirmed that it is fine to mix foods)

It's fine, but I bet you wont need the canned. I am telling you, dogs LOVE the EVO.

My in-laws have a pointer who wont ever touch her food. They put it in the bowl and she literally stares at it until the end of the day, or takes pieces and spreads them around the house, but wont eat it. I told them to try the EVO and she wolfed it down immediately. My mother-in-law called me shocked and I just got to say "I told you so.";)

I should also add that you should make sure to not over-feed the EVO. You don't need to feed near as much as traditional kibble. Over feeding can lead to loose stools etc.

Picked up the Evo today. Mixed it with a little of the old and Tinker just about ate it all!! Will do the same for a few days and slowly get her on the Evo by itself. Will see how it sits with her later when she pooparoo's.

I have a Tinker too..;)

I agree with showpug, also canned isn't great for dogs who are predisposed for dental issues. Toy poodles really should be on hard food, raw bone if possible as well to help with keeping the teeth in good health.
