This weekend was planned as a defeat the chicken wing making branches weekend.

Im a fan of spice, the hotter the better. Well my friends always told me "you should try Wild Wing" or "you should try CW Coops" and proceeded to tell me they had the hottest wings ever. Well, my cast iron stomach and I decided to put em to the test. For friday, the plan was to ready the stomach, nothing like a bbq with friends all sorts of different spices (mainly habanero based) and a few beers. Then came the challenge. 1st up.....

Wild Wing, the waitress came out and my friends ordered and I figured im gonna wait till last and such cause mine is gonna take the longest cause of the waiver and all that junk. Well they all order theirs and I order mine, telling the waitress "get me the hottest ya got" then the waitress starts to tell me the proceedure.

"Sir you realize what you have ordered, and to start you need to sign this waiver agreeing that you realize these will be extremely spicy and you aknowledge that you dont have a heart condition, breathing problems, yada yada yada......no touching your eyes, no touching any soft membraned skin, if you need to wipe your face we will do it for you yada yada yada"

Anyway, out comes 20 (the minimum order they will allow you to take for the challenge) of these little pinkish/red coloured wonders drowned in a sauce that can only be descibed as an orgy of sauces and spices, all the friends are watching, the waitress is standing by with a few rags and such to wipe sweat and sauce off my face (your not allowed to do it by yourself) and although getting a few hiccups from the spice, and a few forehead wipes from the sweat they go down spicely but nicely, and just to make things that much more interesting I ate them slow and finished them :D

I do have to admit, they are enough to make you do either 1 of 2 things, beg to Jesus promising him anything he wants just to make the heat go away, or avoid breathing out front normally, cause the spice breath has to pass your eyes, and the spice on these bad boys feels like mace in your eyes when you breathe out. However good tasting and appreciable spice none the less. And for my efforts, Wild Wing took my picture and I got a T-shirt =D (which I didnt know they did that sort of thing till saturday when I did it :rofl1:

Next on the chopping block CW coops, apparently the "Baddest wings in town" We all walked in, sit down and we get our orders. The waitress said never in her 2 years on shift seen anyone try, and succeed with the "coo-coo sauce" being the only sauce on the wings that they served "people usually order it as a side sauce and not as the main one" ...and she did the usual, went thru the waiver that they had, yada yada yada.

They come out with 2 pounds of wings (almost the same as Wild Wing cept here there was 21) and same thing "no touching eyes nose or soft membraned skin" yada yada yada, waitress on standby with the rags and some sort of white powder for your lips which I have no clue what it was(but I refused it anyway).

I have never seen so many people watch me eat wings so intently or for so long, the waitress, a few regulars, a random family, and even the cook apparently was watching me on the sidelines the WHOLE time. Again, I ate them slow with a draught stella for the beverage

After the last wing was consumed, everyone applauded, followed by the waitress smiling shaking her head and calling me crazy, and the cook shaking my hand and congratulating me on being the first person in that restaurants 2 years at its location to eat their hottest wings slow, finish them and keep them down (after my hand was washed from the spice of course)

The only thing that was dissappointing about the whole experience is CW Coops doesnt give you anything afterwards, besides the handshake and them offering me a free beer when I come in next time :D

But oh well, I feel accomplished and the spice was fantastic. Anyone wanna go for spicy wings? :D

Hottest wings I've ever seen (not that I'd have dared eat them, I can barely tolerate medium some days) was on my 22 birthday when we went to a local pub and the guys were up for a challenge. The chef came out and warned them about what they'd ordered (no waivers or anything though, I didn't know some places did that!) and when he (personally) delivered the wings he brought out a pitcher of milk and a loaf of bread with them. Just SMELLING them made my eyes burn. Matt finished two wings, a friend of ours ate the rest (as he drenched himself in sweat).

I dunno, it just doesn't seem *enjoyable* to eat wings that hot.

Was the flavor good? Hot is one thing, but hot for the sake of melting your face without actually giving you some good flavor is another?

Personally, I wouldn't go for the hottest they got, mostly because I don't want to **** fire for the next week.

Nice to know. I've yet to run across any wings that were spicy "as advertised" lol.

Now . . . what kind of beer and how was the "afterburn?" :rofl1:
Stella Artois is my usual pick

And the afterburn for the mouth after eating them lasts a few hours, as for the other "afterburn" the next day you spend feelin kinda funny and its still just as hot >.>

And eddie, to be entirely honest they were tasty, just really freekin hot :rofl1:

I did however find the ones at CW coops much hotter though, Wild wing uses extreme drop, which is about 1 mill Scolville whereas CW coops uses an extract way up in the millions somwhere, I think they said 6 mill or something

Blue Moon got real popular around here recently. Most of the bars have it available.
