Boone is a neutered male, brown/black German Shepherd mix weighing 36lbs. He went missing from his Botwood home Friday February 25 2011 at around noon. He is wearing a collar with an ID tag and is microchipped. He is VERY nervous of people so please approach with caution. He requires special care and medication due to an injury and for his behavior problems. There is a cash reward for his safe return.

If you have any information please PM me.

He was last seen in Laurenceton on Saturday February 26 2011.

I don't know what happened, my dad phoned a little after 12pm and asked if I had taken Boone to work with me. I told him I hadn't. Dad says he can't find him anywhere, he had let Boone and Woof outside while he went to pick up my brother for lunch at school, the school is just up the road not, maybe 5 minutes from the house. When he came back Boone was no where to be found. He drove around the whole day trying to find Boone, even went to Bishops Falls, Northern Arm, and Philips Head, no Boone. No one in town had seen him, which was odd as there isn't another dog in the area that looks or acts like Boone, he really stands out. I leave work and come down to search, no luck. Woof is howling in the yard and very needy and restless when in the house. By nightfall we end the search, start again in the morning before I have to open the store. No luck, we call and send the information to the Gander and Grand Falls SPCA, tell everyone that comes into the store and put it on the radio. When my boss comes in I leave to go search again.

I call my dad to see where he is and my mom answers saying their in Laurenceton looking for Boone with a bunch of other people from there. A man had come across Boone on the side of the road in the brush, Boone wouldn't let him get near him so the man tried to read his tag with his binoculars to no avail, anyway he got back in his car and went on home where he told someone about the dog he'd seen and this someone told him that was probably the dog from the radio and gave him the phone number. Man called the house and told my parents he's seen Boone, my parents don't believe it at first since Laurenceton isn't really close to us, its about an hour or more drive. But the man says its Boone so my parents head up there with a picture and show him and sure enough thats the dog he saw on the side of the road. He must have crossed the semi frozen bay to get there, there isn't any other explanation and he's lucky he didn't fall through the ice. 20 minutes before my parents got there the guy had tried to coax Boone closer and I'm told almost had him but a car went by and spooked him, he took off. So this guy, my parents and a bunch of other people search the area for him but no luck.

The guy said he's not hurt, he's shaking, scared and peeing everywhere but he did toss him some moose meat which he ate so at least he's being fed. There are plenty of old houses and sheds out there for shelter. So I'm hoping he sticks around there as I'm heading up there tomorrow with Woof. Its going to be pretty cold tonight, -20C so I'm hoping he finds somewhere to keep warm and dry. My poor baby...

OMG, my heart dropped when I read this. Prayers for you and your beloved boy. I'm glad someone that guy looked out for him and fed him, and I hope you get him home soon. Best of luck to you and Woof tomorrow!
