My 5 month old female Mini wont stop eating grass. we live out in the country and cows are everywhere. I wonder if she thinks she is a cow because sometimes she just sits and watches them and then starts to eat like them. Something else has happened here in the last 6 days. Her breath smells like Catfish dip bait or worse! and i can smell it from a distance of about 2 feet. I dont know what it is! If any of you have answers please tell me! lol.

What are you feeding her? Maybe she is 'looking' for some nutrients, or perhaps she is eating a diet high in roughage and so sees grass as 'food'. Perhaps she is on good food but has a problem metabolizing it.

we just bumped her from purina puppy chow to purina Dog chow and thats what our vet has told us to do. He says purina is a good brand. Her stool is healthy looking. The bad breath thing I have no idea what it could be, I have been watching her more when i let her outside because 3 days ago she came in and puked up a whole pecan. LOL

Thats likely your issue right there. Purina dog show is one of the lowest (tho not THE lowest) quality of dog foods. Its like eating McDonalds for every meal, and is sooo full of junk. Many vets are not educated on nutrition. This is a really good site http://www.dogfoodproject.com/

I would get your dog on a much better food, your dog will smell better, feel better and overall be healthier.

My Lab has been grazing like a cow as well...it's just something she does.

The breath I would venture is caused by the food. That's a great link Dekka gave you. :)

In my opinion if your dog eats good food, you don't need to supplement. My dogs compete in many events, including racing and agility. I don't supplement their diets with commercial stuff. The get orijen or home made raw. I won't even feed dog treats that have by products, corn, wheat, and other less wholesome stuff.

Well i do believe what you said now about the Dog Chow. She didnt touch it this morning and after we brought her back in from being outside for about 5 or more minutes she puked up 2 more pecans! so i scrambled her up an egg and let her eat them and we are getting ready to go to the store.

If she's puking up pecans, she might need to get checked out by the vet to make sure there isn't a blockage.
