I thought the same, see the unusually high instance of diluted blues? That's a pretty rare color in Dals. I also hate the fact that he's making up names for the colors.

This is on his website under the "testimonials" section...pretty sure this isn't a testimonial...

"I must re-instate the fact that we do not recognise AKC, UKC, CKC, PKC or any other kennel club, not now, not EVER [...] AKC and all the other kennel clubs lacks credibility, keeps a data base on several different breeds of dogs for a FEE. This is were scams and incorrect pedigrees appear. For a Fee, AKC will issue papers on any pup. Remember AKC is in NY City counting their millions of dollars and they are not an eye witness to the matings, all they want is the FEE.--------Meanwhile, back at the ranch [...] we are expecting 3 litters for the fall and planning 5 litters for Christmas."

Now THAT is some classy, classy breeding protocol.

Oh, and he has people refer to him as Col. Gene.

*eye roll*

If you google "Miniature Dalmatians" the first link will be the website I was referring to. I noticed that the original link posted was no longer available. The website, however, seems pretty up to date, sadly.

I know someone who got a pup from him. She competes in agility locally. Its a cute pup but deaf. And she still had to pay full price.

I like how they don't show the males and females.

No proof then that these are even purebred.

The guy's name is Gene!

I live in Ga and about 7 years ago at least, I got "suckered" into purchasing a Dal from him! I actually went down to the location and picked up my mini dal that I named Teton (After my deceased step brother that loved Dal's). We'll I only had Teton for a few months when I started working on training him potty, etc. I soon realized something was wrong and Teton couldn't hold himself in his crate or anything. Come to find out after my vet did extensive tests on him at age 6months he had urate crystals and a stint!

I contacted the breader and he wanted to "Exchange" Teton for another dog for me. I explained to him that I couldn't do that b/c I know what he would do is "put him down", give me a new puppy and not fix the genetic problem (hense fix the parents for not breeding anymore). We'll it got him let's say excited to be polite and I ended up filing a complaint to BBB in Georgia about him. It went to levels of going to court b/c I wanted him to know what he's doing is not right!

I never gave him Teton back, but since Teton was so sick and I was young and working full time and couldn't tend to his needs the way he needed them, The Dalmation Rescue Center here in Georgia were more than thrilled to take him in and foster him and give him everything he needed. They had said that they had been trying to get a product of this guy for years too so that they could persue him so they were excited to have Teton.

The guy is an a.... and I promise he knows my name! I made sure of it. I know I gave Teton a life and that is all that matters. He was going to kill him.

I just went to see his website, It's basically the same. HOWEVER I paid about $500 for Teton.. Looks like he's gone up on prices too. And b/c you visit the kennel by appt only gives him time to clean up. All the pups are kept in cages outside under a patio looking thing..... Nice huh?

I'd LOVE to know how they pulled off a CKC registration!!
Continental Kennel Club, probably. It's a popular organization for BYBs because it has no standards. It's unrelated to the Canadian Kennel Club.

Edit: Dur, I just realized how old the original thread was.

He probably assumed that you cared as little for the pup as he did, so he'd just issue you a new one. You'd never know the difference. I bet he doesn't.

Those are not the actions of a caring breeder who is aiming to better the breed. That is nothing but a complete money grab. And think of the dozens and dozens and dozens of poor little lives that he has created. That's really sad.

SO glad you contacted the BBB about him. He should be shut down, not a bajillionaire.

Yes, but that was awhile ago, guess people don't care what is reported against someone, all they want is the idea of a mini dal. And he's basically the only one who has them. That is why he continues to make money and increase his adoption rates. If people would stop and think about what is wrong with this picture and not proceed to adoption with him he would be out of business but it's the population that keeps him earning money. I tried but unless others try too it's not enough.

This dude really got under my skin. I kept all his papers and legal stuff (still have it just in case). The Dal rescue made me promise to let them handle him b/c they had Teton now. I didn't want to let him win.... I still cringe when I think of all of what I went through. Emotional and costly. More Emotional though. I cried for weeks when I found out he was sick.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. :( Not only are this guy's morals not up to my standard, but he is just a lowsy human being.
