When I first bought him he had a bit of a sneeze and a bit of hacking. Sunday was the worst I saw him hacking and sneezing constantly for a couple of hours straight. Took him to to the vet yesterday and was prescribed a stronger antibiotics from what he had before. Hopefully he'll be well soon enough.

Anyone has had experience with this?

I got Milou from a Petstore. He had another brother and sister there as well. Wish I could have taken them all in.

Poor little one that must be a pain the butt for him. Did he say if it was bacterial or viral in nature? Duh...must be bacterial or they wouldn't have prescribed antibiotics. (sorry thinking out loud as I type). You should contact the pet store and let them know because chances are all the pups have it and should be treated before it gets real bad. Plus it could spread to all the other animals in the store.

I will. I gotta stop by the petstore tomorrow so I'll let them know. It's interesting when we had him at the petstore he seemed fine, but when we brought him home, he started sneezing. I thought it could have been dusty or something so i took him to the vet the very next day. He got 2 shots plus an antibacterial drop. He still had it but Sunday was the worst day. Poor little guy had me scared, he kept sneezing and hacking continously for a couple of hours. The only time he wouldn't do that was when he slept.

He's doing a bit better now, he isn't hacking/sneezing as much but it's still there. Milou was born on 5/10/05 and I was able to get him on 7/25/05. I saw him a few days earlier and played with him. I was going to buy him right there on the spot but then they informed me that he had already been sold. I was so distraught cause I instantly liked him a lot. I went to the petstore a few days later and he was still there. I asked and the former owner changed her mind. My lucky day :p . I grabbed him right there and brought him home :D

He'll be 3 months tomorrow and is a 2 pound furball :D

Tracheobronchitis is the fancy way of calling it "kennel cough." They get it from being around other dogs and yes, vets will prescribe antibiotics even if it's viral. They claim it protects against "secondary infection." Either way, the illness has to run it's course. They get this from being around other dogs with the illness and it is airborn and highly contagious. Luckily it is not life threatening and within a couple of weeks they are usually good as new. Good luck and I hope he feels better soon. :)

Hehe nice mix. I luv the white coloring on his face.

I hope he'll get better soon. I hate seeing him hacking and sneezing. Though his sneeze is really cute =p

Thanks for clarifiying ShowDog, I kinda figured that's what it was. Interesting about the antibiotics if it is viral though. Aren't vets concerned about "super bugs" in treating animals?
One of the training places I was looking at required the vaccinaiton for Kennel Cough, I told them I wouldn't do it, too many strains that aren't covered and I don't like bombarding my dogs immune systems with vaccines that aren't really needed. I decided to take my business elsewhere!

Hope your little one clears up right fast, must be a bummer for him, like a bad cold I would guess.
