We're fine here in central IA.... other than water in the basement. But it's not the bad kind of flooding.... it's the moronic husband kind of flooding. So I've got it under control.
We have missed the severe weather today but may get some tomorrow.
Had a ton of rain though....and went from cold yesterday to 80s today to things are feeling really unsettled. My house is a giant mud pit from the dogs who have all had multiple baths today lol....cant wait for a dry spell
Couple tornados yesterday here but nothing today. Closest was in Norman, which isn't very close. All my family is hunkered down in storm shelters in Kansas at the moment (I'm the only one here in town). They've been hyping it up that yesterday and today would be awful but it was mild for Oklahoma tornado season.
We got some rain yesterday, but nothing horrible at all. Today it is warm and sunny and wonderful outside. Tomorrow I think we're too expect more storms, but again, nothing horrible.
The one article I read last night made me think of the movie twister!
Stay safe everyone! I'll take the wind and thunderstorms we have in Ohio. Kept me from going to watch to tough murder competition yesterday. Guess I'm not even tough enough for that lol! Winds really going though- had to fix part of the fence that broke last night.
Woke up to Yoshi digging at me this morning at about six. I turned my laptop on and was able to stream enough news to see a hook forming on the storm that was almost to us and then the power went out.
Went downstairs and was in the bathroom looking for candles when I got a voicemail from my gam telling me to wake up because she couldn't get my dad or brother on the phone.
When I was walking out of the bathroom to go wake my dad up one of our front windows got shattered by one of the trees near my house. I was able to throw Yoshi into the storm shelter and get my dad and brother.
We ended up in the shelter for about 15 minutes but luckily there wasn't any tornadoes just some really bad storms.
The window in my room ended up getting broken too. My bed is right by my window so I'm really glad I had gotten up.
All's ok here now but there were some rumors a tornado touched down so now with all the calls being made in and out of my small town with one cell tower to tell out of state/town family everyone is ok it's almost impossible to use the phone.
Storms yesterday but we're under a tornado watch 'til 6pm tonight, wind advisory until 10pm. TWC's local forecast shows severe thunderstorm warnings for us from 3pm to around 8pm.
Trying to figure out what to do with the horses... leave 'em out in pasture to take shelter under the cedar trees (although they also have a lean-to shelter in pasture) or lock them in the barn. They tend to panic when hail hits the tin roof. :/
