I accidentally deleted Microsoft Word, well not so much as deleted as someone thought I had the disk and screwed my whole computer up

So is there another program that is easy to use, will open Microsoft Word documents, and allow me to save in that format? I know a little bit on computers, but am clueless in this area and what is out there, all I know is I need to type a few things out and am unable to do so.

Anyone have any clue on where to go from here? Or will I need to go and purchase something?

Somewhere under Programs accessories there should be a program called "Word Pad". It has limited capabilities but is good if you are just doing straightforward typing.

If you are using Windows XP go to "Start", then "All Programs", then "Accessories".

That's what I was going to suggest, RH :)

I'm getting into the habit of storing copies of all my important work and notes as PDF files on an external hard drive so I don't have to worry about being able to open them with different word processing programs.

I've heard, not only from gurus but end users -- which probably means more, lol, that not only is it a free program, it's far superior to Word (which I've never used except here and there when I've been on an odd computer that wasn't running Corel or wasn't a Mac).
