My guess is conjunctivitis... My moms dog came down with it (does it look crusty or goopy?) and he woke up one morning like that. Bright side is all it took was a few drops to get it better

On the other hand Merlin did that to me one day and it ended up just being a hair stuck under his eyelid. The vets all laughed at me lol

Oh, man. Figures, right?

Jackson had a goopy crusty eye one day and I let it go like 2-3 days, I think, and when I realized it wasn't getting better, took him in. His was never closing like Mia's though.

Anyway, vet did a Glaucoma Test which came back perfect. She also did a corneal stain and looked into his eye in the dark, and did not see any scratches or anything on the eyes. So she thought it was just some kind of infection.

She gave me eye drops for 2-3x a day and they worked pretty fast. So I'm sure everything will be alright. :) Let us know how it goes.

I tried flushing it out but you would ave thought I was killing her. It's a bit red compared to the other eye. She keeps scratching at it with her feet though.

Could be many, many things...

She could have scratched it, got something in it, have an infection... Etc.

Hope she's ok!

She also has yelped twice for no apparent reason. Looked like she rubbed her eye and then yelped this last time.

My guess is nothing *serious* (aka, don't rush her to the emergency vet unless you just feel like it), but she could have scratched it/had an ulcer form/have something stuck in it/etc.

My guess is with some meds she'll be just fine. But I would have her seen.

Eye issues I would always vet within 24-48 hours (ya know, depending on the severity). Hope it's a quick and easy fix.

I was thinking scratch. My son had this recently. His three yr old jumped from the sofa and when he caught him the boy's fingernail dug a channel right through the surface. THe eye specialist said the eye is like an onion and when a layer has peeled away like that the new tissue does not attach, so it could detatch. If that happened it would be surgery. WE were grateful. They gave him a contact lens that acted as a bandaid and was instant relief. Poor Mia, my son said it hurt insanely. I am glad you got to the problem so she could begin to heal.
