I'm always on the board talking about Sage, because she is my dog, but there is also another dog living in our household who should probably be properly introduced. His name is Diogi (pronounced...D.O.G) He's not mine (my cousins own him) but I've grown up with him and have watched him age
This is his story...
My aunt and uncle wanted a Shiba after my mom and another friend of theirs had one. They looked into a Shiba rescue about a half hour away but they didn't have any available. They were bummed and about to start checking out the pound when they got a call from the Shiba Rescue saying they just got one in from a pretty traumatic incident.
A guy had set his own house on fire with him and the dog inside. He was obviously trying to commit suicidie. His wife and children weren't there but they said he'd been depressed and loved his dog more than anything. So why not kill the dog too...maybe he believed in an afterlife, who knows. Anyways, the firemen were able to get the dog out but it was already too late for the man, I think he might have even set himself on fire. The family didn't want the dog, said it would remind them too much of the husband so they gave him to authorities and he eventually ended up at the rescue. They took him the same day they met him and have had him ever since.
He was 2 at the time, sweet, spunky, mischievious, and stoked on life. His only issued were with fire (for obvious reasons...they couldnt even light a fire in the fireplace) as well as fireworks and loud bangs. He is 12 now, and still a sweatheart. He has his fair share of health problems but ever since I moved in with the girls, I've been doing some educating. He had been eating Beneful (turns green and gags ) for years. He's now on Evo and doing alot better. He's turned from a pretty red to a shade of white now but he's still the cutest!
Here he is hanging out in my room...he doesn't carry his tail up and curled anymore, it just hangs down now.
Not too stoked off the flash in his face.
Him and Sage begging as usual
