I've posted on other forums and recognize some of the people (or at least their dogs, lol!) anyhow, i've been lurking so finally registered.
My name is Stephanie and i'm 23 years old but generally i'm pretty boring so on to my dogs:
Pandora, 1 year old German Shepherd (rescue) I got her as a pup from a place called "Camp Wolfgang" a GSD rescue in Ennis, Texas. She was brought in with a litter of puppies AND both parents after being pulled from a kill-shelter. According to the rescue admin the people who dumped them there bred their two adult dogs because they didn't want older dogs anymore they wanted ONE puppy. They kept one and took the rest to the pound and she ended up with me!
Cain, 5 month old Husky/German Shepherd/Wolf
He was a semi-rescue. A neighbor of mine got this dog and when the dog was about 12/13 weeks she was going through a divorce with her husband. He kicked her out of the house, etc... bunch of drama and she was moving back home to New York, so she left the dog with me. I originally was going to find him a home because i have heard too many horror stories of wolf dogs going mean, etc... but I fell in love with him. He's such a sweetheart.
Luke, 1 and a half year old Saint Bernard
I got a call about a large dog tied up in someones yard and the guy kept saying that if someone didn't take the dog he was going to have it put to sleep. So, I went over there thinking it was probably a big rottie or a pit, etc.. but nope it was a very matted and very thin but beautiful saint bernard, very young too. I knocked on the guys door and told him I was taking his dog, he said okay and pretty much slammed the door. He had a nylon color on but it was basically rusted on i had to get a knife and CUT it off of him. I wasn't going to keep him because I figured he had little to no socialization with other dogs... but he got along great with them. So I kept him!
Max, 1 year old White German Shepherd
I went to a local pound with a friend of mine because she was looking for a dog. While there I found a beautiful pure breed border collie and this guy. They both were scheduled to be pts the next morning. I was able to get the collie pulled by a local humane society (petsaversshreveport.org) but they said they were booked after that. I took Max with me and found him a loving home but after a week of having him the owner got horrible news and was going to be going through several treatments and in and out of hospitals. She figured she wouldnt have the time or energy after treatments to provide exercise for such a high energy breed. So, he ended up with me. He's a great dog though! I'm happy for it.
