Hi everyone . I am new at this. My name is Donna and i live in Pa. we have four dogs as of today . One Pomeranian, one lhasa one pekeneese, I know I spelled that wrong and a peekapoo. also several cats. I had a shitzu named dolly and had to have her put down today so it has been a really bad day and then I saw this site and wanted to join in as I wanted to see if anyone had a similar problem with their dog. Dolly my shitzu was fine up until tuesday afternoon and she started to sneeze two huge sneezes. Later I saw a water bloody discharge from one nostril. It was down hill from there. Took her to a vet which wasn't the one I use as mine was unavailable. they said it was from infected teeth put her on a antibiotic and sent us home untilher teeth could be cleaned. She seemed to just want to lay around. Took her to my vet and he put her on ivs , she went into seizures and had trouble breathing and the nostril was still draining. My vet said maybe infection went to the brain. Wasn't sure. After he put her down he said he thought she had a brain tumor. I am sick over it all . Tuesday fine in the morning and then from then on except for a couple hours on Friday she just kept getting worse. I would like to hear from anyone who may have any better ideas than the vets did or similar problem. It just seems to help to talk to others. Our dogs are part of our family and I have spent the day bawling but I know it was right to put her out of her suffering but not getting any real answer sucks and i asked about an autopsy but they seemed reluctant. Thanks for listening to me . Donna

thanks it is good to be in touch with others that their dogs are important members of their family. It can be heartbreaking at times like this but there is so much joy from them. this one slept with us and it feels rather empty at the bottom of the bed I am going to miss that bossy little bark to be left up in the bed . again thank you

I am so so sorry for your loss, that must've been heartbreaking. :(

We all welcome you though and would love to see pictures of your puppies, though!

I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like it happened bewilderingly fast. I hope you find comfort and support here. It is a special place.

That is very sad, RIP Dolly. Time will heal & you will remember all the good times you had together. I lost my border collie April in Feb to old age, but it wasn't any easier.
Hope to hear all about your furkids & see their pics.
