I just finished my taxes and I owe the good ole' government some money. I also received my Social Security statement that says I have so much and will retire with so much in benefits etc...well then I noticed on the front it says Social Security is not doing well (heard this many times) and that I really should have a back up plan in case there isn't any social security to pay when my time comes. So, what the hell am I paying? I bust it at work, I busted it getting through school, and yet here I am funding other people and there might not be enough to draw on when I retire. I'm just so sick of paying other people to be lazy. Gee, it's Monday I would really love to have a baby! Well, I have no health insurance nor money to pay for formula, but the govt will help me out! Or the ones that hurt their backs....and are still on disability YEARS after the initial injury. I have a friend that cannot work, she's on disability, and yet still has the energy to shop.

We don't qualify for anything because we were *gasp* motivated individuals and sometimes things are STILL hard, yet we get no help. It's called savings, health insurance, IRAs, mutuals. It's called being a responsible adult. We don't buy big screen TV's and then turn around and apply for medicaid. I'm sorry, but how much more irresponsible and just down right trashy can people get?!!?!?!?!?!?

Whew, just needed to get that out. Thanks, that's all.

I needed that little vent after I did my taxes. Ouch...it's just painful. I'm not against welfare programs in the least, it's the abuse that makes them so intolerable.

Well didn't you hear the congress is patting itself on the back because they are FINALLY giving back a fraction of the money to the citizens? LOL

While I always welcome a check in the mail... what a joke. Thanks for giving me our money back lol.

Even those not paying taxes are going to get the same rebate taxpayers are going to get.

OH of course... can't leave them out....that would be "discriminatory"

Otherwise hubby's rebate would be bigger... but he has to sacrifice it to pay for everyone else... when we could really use it since we are starting a new family and about to buy a house... AND dealing with immigration the LEGAL way... but who cares about us.

Just because I make so little money that I don't have to pay any (pending actual math) money does not mean that I should be disallowed from helping the economy!

Its not people cheating welfare that got us in the most current recession mess, it was the overspending middle class, so you might look at yourselves.

Well considering my family is middle class... and yet we paid for my entire pregnancy, labour and delivery all on our own.... We are buying a house without government help. We are going through immigration legally without any government assistance.... actually... we are paying thousands into the government pocket just so that I can be with my family without harrassment... so overspending? perhaps... yet it is all going into the government pocket to be distributed to everyone else.

and I am not sure what you mean by "pending actual math"... are you talking about paying on your tax return? do you not get taxes deducted from your paycheck? Just curious about what you mean

Look at myself you say? Well, that's fine..I will. Why should I NOT spend the money I make. I work for it. It's not MY FAULT that you make so little money, is it? It's not my fault that some nit wit with a big screen tv is applying for medicaid because they just can't afford health insurance. :rolleyes:Really now, maybe it's all the people who are constantly sucking welfare dry that makes the economy a little less unstable.

AND pay taxes on that money you make... as well as sales tax for everything you buy (depnding where you are) AND pay MORE taxes when you get your taxes done depending on your earnings... How dare you spend your money.... don't you know you should give MORE of it away...after all... you don't need to live do you?

Honestly I dont think any of us should get the $300, $1200, or what ever it is. Spend it on our soldiers.

Even better.

I just love that they are patting themselves on the back for admitting they take too much money from the taxpayers lol

Just think of how much more they will take when another Democrat is sitting POUSA.

Tax us to death so that we can have abortion on demand.

Ya, I have to do my taxes too, darn it. I just got one of my Stock Statements. Hershey ESPP to be exact, beings I own many shares of Hershey ESPP they are requesting me to purchase additional... but I have a time limit. Darn it.
I have enough shares now to vote at the round tables (never did yet) I was thinking maybe buying a few thousand more shares by April just to waltz in there with a chip on my back, if my horses do really good that is. And protest the Mexico deal. Watcha think. Ya think Hershey belongs in America, or ya think we should let those bastards move Milton Hershey's Dream to Mexico and charge us the import fee's for Hershey's Kisses ?
Anyhooo's that's my current option.

Sparks, for a while they didn't even bother taking it out. Now they are, but I should be getting most of it back. I just don't know the actual amounts yet. Now that I'm in Oregon with no sales tax, and no property to my name, I'm basically on the hook for gas tax.

Note, they aren't giving me any either. Besides the student loans which I'm sure they're turning at least a small profit on.

I wasn't talking about anyone in particular (far more readers than posters for one) but I can't see why you wouldn't want private insurance if you know you're having a baby? Assuming you can get it, its one of the few times it really makes sense. Plus it can be a perfectly capitalistic way to get your money.

Maybe, instead of blaming each other, we should be looking at a beaurocracy that is totally fiscally irresponsible, greedy and corrupt?
