Probably one of my most pointless posts ever, but I just have to say I'm really excited about starting Mavrick's foundation agility class. My friend has taken quite a few levels with the trainer and says it's a really fun, positive clicker class.

It'll be our first class togther since I adopted him.I did a few levels of classes with Duke when he was younger, and despite the fact in the early levels I was absolutly embarressed by his reactivity, which I didn't really understand at the time we always had alot of fun, and it was really rewarding seeing him progress each week.

I'll post more exciting things after we actually go to a class, lol.

Congrats! Keep us updated!

Sort of the same boat, Dekka. The trainer I take lessons from doesn't have any classes scheduled until March, and lately, it's been too miserable out to do much home training outside... Oh, and by the by, you can have your cold Canadian air back, I think we're done with it. ;)

Thanks guys!

Here's a little update on week 2:

-We continued shaping them to step onto a box with their two front paws and had them move with us either left or right only with their back legs.

-This is the first exercise I have shaped with Mav, and worked on it on and off throughout the week, he had begun offering looking downwards away from me at the box, and around wensday offered a paw on the box. By yesterday he was stepping up on it and moving with me. Today in class he stepped right up and had no problem doing a 360 to the left and right with his front paws planted using only his back feet HOORAY!

-We also continued shaping them to step into a box, have only gotten one paw in so far but it's a start!

-We continued shaping them to walk on a plank, Mav got all four paws up!

-We lured them up the stairs and then practiced calling them to either side of our body so they ended up with 2 on the floor/ 2 on the stairs, Mav had no problem with this

-We begun shaping/ luring them onto a small A-frame to get them used to it. I just want to shape for this, so we didn't get too far today, but I did get Mav confidently offering one paw on the frame.

-We continued nose targeting, which Mav is improving on as well

No pictures from class... as er... Mavrick chewed up my camera over the week, my fault as it was in reach but I am uploading some practice sessions I had last week. Cute... but sneaky...lol.

How did I miss Mav!? He's gorgeous! Glad the classes are going well.

I just signed Quinn up to her class, I missed the first one of the year though and have to wait till the end of March to start!
