lol Steve is a chef and never cooks at home. I make him help me with christmas dinner and sometimes thanksgiving but that's about it for the most part. He's already put in a full years worth of hours this year so I can hardly blame him.

So many things that would be useful here...doctor, dentist, vet, auto mechanic, dog trainer, massage therapist...If I married for money, I could afford to pay for all of those...

So, if I had to choose one occupation to marry for, I'd go with a sheep and cattle farmer. I do have four herding dogs after all. :D

But apart from already being taken, the real thing that put me off is.. I KNOW WHERE his hands have been.. Not sure I could cope with someone who has to squeeze anal glands on a daily basis.. Not that I am obsessive about cleanliness or anything..
E-e-e-e-e-wwwwwww! I never thought of it that way. Now I will. That is so gross!

I am getting such a kick out of all these responses. Great minds think alike. That's for sure. :D

I'd be afraid to marry for any particular occupation since everyone I've ever ended up paired up with has been more than willing and happy to dump his responsibilities on me.

All I'm really cut out to be is a mistress.

Ah, as long as I can keep it in my head that we're only temporary chapters in each other's lives I'll be okay. I'll never allow myself to entertain delusions of permanence again.

And no, Charlie isn't the one who cured me of thinking there was anything lasting for me; I always knew that relationship was finite. Between him, Roger and a few others, I'm an expert at sidestepping the marriage question, lol!

My only requirement, really, is that he has to be a pushover. So when I want a dog, or bring one home he will not tell me no, and he won't get angry about it. :D

The upside of this is, you can treat yourself to GORGEOUS undies knowing someone WILL get the chance to appreciate them, without the 3rd degree or someone suggesting that you have alterior motives. ;)

I decided it would be nice the other night to have a bath and get all dolled up for his lordship before he got in, I thought it would make a change from a Mrs who constantly stinks of horse poo and dog slobber.. But no.. He asked where I had been and who i'd been with...

Do something nice and you get the 3rd degree, do nothing and they winge that you don't make an effort! LOL!

Being a mistress isn't a bad occupation to be honest, at least you have an excuse to buy stilletto's without feeling guilty and actually WEAR them from time to time! ;)

As long as he can do plumbing, electrical, change oil, construction and what ever else I need, it's all good, lol. Men who know nothing about cars or tools or around the house projects and have to hire out are by far the most unattractive men on the planet in my book.

I'm a very lucky gal. In my teens/twenties, when most of my friends were dreaming of someone who's popular, handsome, rich, romantic, etc.. I already knew those qualities were not what I was looking for in a man, but instead his faithfulness to God, loyalty to me, kindness to everyone, positiveness toward life, and a fierce determination to win over any life's obstacles.

Then I prayed that if it's God's will that I'll get married, pleaseeee help me find the man He has in store for me, who meets all the "qualifications" I've set

And God really granted my wish :). My husband was not only "qualified", he exceeded my expectation! He didn't have any real training in mechanics or construction, but he takes great care of our cars, can fix anything around the house, and build anything I've so far wanted (i.e, planters, fences, a set of media cabinets, etc.. ). Though both of us are still amateurs when it comes to gardening, he's proven to be excellent at it, too!! :D

Mechanic. Definitely a mechanic. You never can tell when you're being ripped off and being made to repair things that don't need repairing. And the cost...dear god.

I'm 100% in the mechanic camp.

My daughter is dating an EMT/firefighter whose hobby is restoring classic cars. When he visits he gets all kinds of discounts at restaurants because he is a fireman. And last time he came up he fixed my non-running van.

Long may this relationship prosper!

A pilot. I'd love unlimited trips back into the states.

Honestly though, if my boyfriend cleaned toilets all day I wouldn't love him any less.

I could use a really informed doctor, a handyman, or a very wealthy patron of the arts.
A mechanic would help too.
