first off i dont wanna be a breeder or anything like that my dog is about 7 months old just finished her first period and her nipples and private area are still swollen and its been about 3 weeks now here is the tricky part she was around a male maltese while on her period cuz we were dog sitting but we kept our eye on them and had them seperated 95% of the time so now were about 3 weeks in and notice little grey pouch or swollen area around her nipples so we think shes pregnant which we hope its not any help would be great thanks

Hello, to be sure, you can take your dog to the vet for accurate check-up.

Punctuation would have made that easier to read but anyway, I agree with the others. She should be spayed asap. A pregnant 7 month old puppy is about equal to a 10 year old pregnant human child. She is neither physically, mentally, or emotionally ready for motherhood. Toy breeds are notorious for needing c-sections and in a physically underdeveloped pregnant puppy, she may require one. It is also common for puppies to be clueless about motherhood. They sometimes refuse to nurse or care for their young which means bottle feeding the offspring. I'm not saying these things would definately happen but the odds are high. Since you say you do not want to become a breeder, this is the time to have the puppy spayed.

I can fully understand your desire to not want to be a breeder. Although if she is pregnant ..well you are a breeder. intentional or not. Since it is possible she is pregnant or could even be going through a false pregnancy it would be best to have her examined by a vet.

I can also understand that this is not in your hands but rather in your parents hands therefore you may not have a say. So the best thing for us to do is offer advice and give you all the support we can.

Why was that male not neutered or the female spayed? She was supposed to be spayed at 6 months. What are you waiting for? I think what you want here is someone to tell you if she is pregnant or not without paying the veterinarian.
