Nice, what a cutie!

Not to hijack lol, but when I opened this thread I thought I was going to see a run and house, what I call a kennel. I have noticed some people call crates and Kennels the same thing. But when I send my dog off to a boarding kennel (metaphorically speaking) they have runs and houses, or runs and a building. Is this a regional thing? A breed thing? etc.

Hehe Dekka, I am not sure. I have always called them either or. I never really thought about it too much lol.

Lizmo, she is so leggy it is hilarious. I feel bad for her right now because when she is just standing there (or in those pictures) she looks soooooo goofy:D

Beautiful girl!!!

RE the crate VS kennel...the crate is the "cage" and the kennel is the run outside. The terms are strictly kept seperate in this house since those are also the commands the dogs understand.

Hahaha, yeah, I guess I never really gave it much thought. We have ex-pens too and the dogs know them as kennels. Magnus has an actual kennel (outside run) and a crate and he knows them both as kennels hehehe. Maisey has her crate inside and the yard outside (she is too small to jump the fence still), but we are getting another kennel for her outside too.

To me, that's a crate. A kennel is a plastic, wooden or tin box shape with a removable roof for easy cleaning & an open doorway. Kept as a house for outside dogs to sleep in & get out of the elements.:)

I'd call that a crate - but, then again, Ilsa will only go to her crate on command if I call it a "kennel"!!
