URGENT! REWARD OFFERED!
Please, if anybody's in the area, please please please keep your eye out for Winky and spread the word.
Winky's a Catahoula Leopard Dog who slipped his collar on the morning of Saturday, January 6th in the area of 39th Avenue and MacLeod Trail S.W. in Calgary, AB. He only has one eye, has limited vision in the other eye, and is deaf in one ear. He's very timid so we suspect he's hiding somewhere. There's been no sign of him since he went missing, and we can only imagine how scared and cold he must be - right now it's -30 C with the windchill (-22 F) and it's only supposed to get colder tonight with possible flurries. Needless to say, he is extremely missed by his foster family.
I've also tried to start up a site to look for him: http://whereswinky.blogspot.com .
Also, any suggestions to help find a lost dog would be greatly appreciated. We've tried the media (news stations, papers, radio stations) and only one radio station is announcing it for us. We've had tracking dogs out and an animal communicator, yet there's still no sign of him. We've plastered the area with posters (although in one area someone keeps taking them down...seriously!), alerted Canada Post who has put a poster up in their office and asked their 200 carriers to keep an eye out, alerted rescues, shelters, and vets in the area, and have been out looking daily. We think he's probably hiding in the area, but can't find anything.
Thank you SO much everyone!!!
