you could can tell the drs office that you have medicaid pending. Since I know some dr's office can retroact (not sure using right lingo) but they can have the medicaid pay for the previous visits once it kicks in.
The problem is it will only cover certain doctors, and the doctor I scheduled with is out of county, because I do NOT trust the local hospital. For years I've always heard of how awful their care is, and I also am not sure if they are private or public.. all I know is that when my dad had a heart attack, they really screwed him over. So, if I went ahead with the appointment, and Medicaid doesn't already cover that doctor, I'd have no way for paying for it. :s So I will likely have to just wait and see what doctors the Medicaid will allow me to see, and hope the doctor I scheduled with is on it.

ETA: I've called the office to ask about what doctors it would cover, but they aren't very friendly towards answering questions. :s So I can't find that out either. *sigh*

You can call the doctors directly and ask if they accept medicaid. And the previous poster was right, Medicaid does backpay for up to 60 days.

Tessa, can you sign up for WIC now? I'm pretty sure it covers mothers-to-be, to help you afford nutritious food.
I'm trying. I've already put in my application. They said it could be over a week until they get back to me. Its been about 5 days I think. So yes, I am trying to get on WIC too. I've been trying hard to eat right, but it is hard when there isn't always food or the kind of food I need. So yes.. hoping that I can get on that soon too. :)

Thanks Fransheska. :) I am on craigslist and have started keeping an eye out in both the baby and the free sections. I'm not worrying a whole lot about the baby supplies just yet. Both sides of the family plan on throwing me a baby shower, so what I don't get from that, I'll go looking for later.
