My family and I are moving into our new home On March 23rd. About April 1 I will be looking for a dog. I am looking for a German Shepherd, Golden Retreiver, Boxer or Lab (Mix's are fine). I need a dog that is friendly with cat's and children. I have 2 black cats that are very friendly and timid of Dogs however I think they would warm up with a dog after getting to know the dog. My children are 2 and 7. My 2 year old needs a dog that wont bite at her as she does tend to be a little aggressive with animals. She doesnt mean to hurt them she just trys to love on them however the animals dont always take it as that.

I would prefer a Dog thats already potty trained and doesnt chew up house stuff. Also a dog that needs to go for walks and likes parks is a plus. I would also prefer a dog that needs a home desperately. I am a big fan of the animal cops TV show. I would love more then anything to save a dog from being uthinized. I live in Surprise, AZ going to be relocating to Buckeye AZ. I have a walled backyard and will have a doggy door installed. The Dog will be mostly indoor with the ability to go in and out as he/she pleases. If all else fails I will head to my local animal shelter and look for a dog but figured I would look on here first since I wont be ready for the dog until after march.

Thanks Guys

Jess gave you some good advice there :D You can find just about any dog on petfinder. they also do some work with the dog to see what he/she will tolerate and enjoy and what they won't. That is a great place to start. That is where we will be looking for our next dog :D We love puppies but we want a dog that is around Teddy's size and likes things that TEddy likes and petfinder gives LOTS of info like that

Jeremy, I have a friend in Surprise who occasionally does rescue. She's a really great person and very knowledgeable about dog training and could probably be of great help to you so you can find the perfect dog for your situation. If you private-message me your email address, I'll forward it to her. :)
