I haven't dressed up for Halloween in many, many years. I'm overweight so I just feel that there is nothing fun I could wear. It doesn't help to live in college towns, seeing all the girls wearing the skimpiest, sexiest things they can find.

Pam11 That bothers me too!! I think if there is something you want to be, the closest you can make it look to the detail, is the coolest costume. Last year my friend was Captain Morgan! It was great! The year before he was Bender from Futurama!!!! For some reason girls take any character and just cut it up and rip it up and it looks nothing like the character. They are usually just a fairy or something, just a reason to be slutty for a day I guess. They just like the "look at me" attention I guess.

Yeah, and I think it's fine to want to look sexy, but some are just too over the top with their butts hanging out and stuff--and in Michigan, you know it's freezing at Halloween so it just seems silly to me

Yikes Keyodie, I'd hardly have to dress up to do your costume, the black hair with gray streaks I've got already, just have to stop dying over the gray, LOL.
I was going to go as a failure terrorist, but living on a military base my hubby said someone might actually put a bullet in me for that with some of the mental problems some soldiers come back with, so I thought twice about it. Would have been easy considering I'm middle eastern though, so onto another plan because real bullet holes on Halloween just isn't fun!
I also don't know what to dress the baby up as, most tiny babies get dressed as a pumpkin or something, so that might be an option, at least it would be warm.
Ahahahaha nice. xD

And awww. Yeah, I imagine that wouldn't be too much fun...

I have always made my kids halloween costumes--just loved to do it! some of the best ones, my daughter "asked" to be for halloween--my favorite was a christmas tree! It turned out great--I put lights on it, with a battery pack, and she sparkled all around the neighborhood--she loved it!

Even though I don't like dressing up, I AM looking forward to having kids to dress up and take out.

I've had some pretty good costumes over the years...my mom usually made me costumes. One year I was Spongebob, my brother was Patrick, and our dog was Gary :)

Dirty Laundry was also a creative costume, then I've done regular witches, black cats, clowns, etc. A friend of mine whose an artist went as Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and looked AMAZING. She'll do one of our friends as the Joker this year and it will probably top everyone's...

Last year I worked at a Children's Program and was Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School bus. None of the little ones got it, but the older kids did. I wore a purple dress which I ironed rocket and bug decals to, red shoes, big star earrings, and a bright red wig piled on my head.

I might go to Boston for Halloween and that would be really cool, some huge parties, so I want to do something really cool for that. Actually I want to do something cool either way. I was thinking of doing something out of Sin City, but I'm not the type to dress up as a prostitute for any occasion. I won't have Milo with me in Boston, so Dorothy and Toto is out :( I'll think of something, I guess.

That's why I'm using you guys as a sounding board, my 2 year old isn't quite old enough to pick out his own costume, but my almost 5 year old can...he just won't and keeps telling me to pick it for him...he's no fun!

I like the Corpse Bride one though, could dress one of the dogs up in a skeleton suit to match the dog Scraps from that too..."play dead" LMAO.

I'm not sure what we're going to do for Halloween, we found out on Friday that my husband has deployment orders for Iraq :( Set for October 18th. This is all new news to us since he was injured in 2006 in Iraq and has been non-deployable since then, but the assholes that be in the military are working a way to get him back on deployable status before the 18th so they can send him. :(
