Forgot that I hadn't done this for the AHT Wonder Twins!

Spud (L) and OE (R)

Sire (coated red)

Dam (hairless blue, tan and white)

Both girls are a nice blend of their parents, although structurally Spud is her dam and OE is her sire. Personality-wise, Spud is her sire and OE is her dam. Kind of funny ....

Pics not mine, but ones that have been posted on another board by their owners...

Mom:

I can't find my favorite pic of Mira's Mom.

For those on the other board, there are a couple threads that are basically montages of Mira's family lol

OMG--they're stunning!!! I love flat coats--I would love to have one some day!

They are a lot of fun, though more different from Labs and Goldens than most people realize. I've had quite a few people (mostly Golden folks) who've said they adore Flatties and would love to have one, then after training around Mira conclude "Holy $*** better you than me" Not saying they are better or worse just different...excellent match for me though happily :)

I was lucky and had the chance to meet Psyche's dad (I got her from a lady who got her from the "breeder"... lady rehomed her when she didn't have time for a hyper BC pup), however, was never able to meet her mom, who's supposed to be a Lab. It's too bad, because I'd like to see Psyche compared to her Momma. I find, personally, she takes very strongly to her Dad's side.

This is Coke, her dad:

I have only had the privilege to spend any decent amount of time around one, and she didn't seem like she had much of an off switch--lol!

Holy cow! Berlin's family is gorgeous! Sailen's too!

Kaia's an equal blend between both her parents, physically and mentally. She's got her dad's substance and energy, with her mom's unflappable attitude and grace. We take this girl to fireworks displays and motorcycle parades.

Here's daddy Cooper.
I love this pic. Her breeder showed Kaia how to do this at the last show. lol

Here's her mommy Inari. Their heads are identical. It's eerie.

And this is little Kaia.

In this picture, from left to right is:
Dad (Cooper), two brothers (Alek and Barii), Kaia, and younger bro (Zasha)
Kaia and her litter brothers are only 10 months old. Zasha is 6. And holy cow her brothers are MOOSE.

Some day I'll have excellent coursing photos of her! *shakes fist at the sky*

I love this thread! I don't have any more good pictures left of the dobes' parents on the computer. I looked for them, but can't find them anywhere. Guess I'll have to re-scan them someday!

Thanks, Toller -- I feel incredibly lucky/blessed to have gotten a puppy from that litter. Mira's dad is a great dog, and her mom is my favorite dog in the breed...Mira herself has characteristics of both parents (both mentally and physically) but favors her Mom a bit more. They are actually quite long-lived relative to the rest of the breed as well so I have reason to hope for 12 years or so. No matter how much time we have it will not be enough.

Jeez I get all mushy whenever I talk about my baby girl lol

ETA If you are in Alberta there's a decent chance the dogs you know/knew were Blazingstar dogs -- from what I hear they are very sweet dogs.
Haha, don't we all get a little mushy when we talk about our dogs? Mira sounds like a great girl! The Flat-Coats I know are Itzawhat dogs, actually. They're really nice, and this last litter that she had a year ago grew up especially pretty (and full of personality plus!). Her dogs are generally super healthy also. I've seen a lot of Blazingstar dogs in and around at dog shows though, and at the different Flat-Coat specialties we've had here. The more time I spend with the breed, the more I think I'd like to have one at some point. I love the liver ones especially (I have a thing for brown dogs!).
