Is it so hard to turn left? I mean really. You wait til the oncoming traffic is empty or til your signal is green, and then you turn left. I won't even complain about you turning into the completely wrong lane, as long as you manage to turn left without cutting someone off or sitting there forever when there's not a car in sight.

And what the hell is with this "I'm going to pull half-way into the intersection and sit there before I make my left turn." What the heck? Who thought of that? Have they been shot yet and if not, why? Why would you sit there in the intersection and risk having the light turn red on you and you block off the other traffic? And don't expect me to back up when you do to let you back in the lane! No I'll sit there and let the traffic camera get a picture of your license plate as you run the red or obstruct traffic and then hopefully you'll grow some thought process of "hmm, maybe I shouldn't do that!" There's not even a point to it. You save a quarter of a second in turning. Wow. Not a whole lot. You're not in THAT big of a hurry unless you have your first born's life bleeding out of them in the back seat or a pregnant lady.

And while we're on pregnant ladies, I was at HEB and parked in the lot next to the Expectant Mother's slot. I didn't know they had an expectant mother's slot but lo and behold they do. It's right near the front, after the handicapped slots, which made my parking space quite the prime piece of real estate. I was elated.

Then a blue Tahoe pulls in to the expectant mother slot as I'm walking by it and so I'm thinking 'well, I discover the slot exists and I'll get to witness it being used as well. Oh blessed day!" and then I look into the car and the woman is rather husky and heavy set, sporting a nice beard and mustache. So I stare at him for a bit, he gets out of the car and I just simply go "Dude..." so he looks at me and goes "are you leaving?" "Yes" "Then I'll just take your spot then." There was a spot 5 slots down! You could've taken that one AND not been a jackhole at the same time! Everyone wins!

People need to learn to drive, it's not that hard.

In New Jersey you can't turn left. You first have to turn right into something called a jug handle and then turn around through it. Jersey is a crazy state. On the turnpike there is a sign for a hotel that says "Bear right at jug handle." Now what kind of sense do they expect that to make to the typical out of state person who might need a hotel room? If you're from here and can read the sign, you probably don't need a room.

I guess I dont understand. When we have to turn left across traffic we pull out so that when the light turns yellow 3 cars can turn. Most of our intersections here, if you dont make that turn on yellow you dont turn. If you dont get your nose out there it limits it to one vehicle making the turn per light cycle. This may bother some folks that treat a green light as a starting flag. I am more bothered by folks who park in the handicap space, even if they have a tag and walk into the store like there is nothing wrong with them at all.

Yeah...about that stuff. :D

I have to drive through the local college campus to get from the high school to the tennis courts. Anywho I was racing my best friend to see who could get there first and I stopped at the stop sign and then sped off instead of letting the students cross.

I felt bad.

But I won the race.

And I felt better.

Wahoo! This is better then confession...actually I've never been to confession. Wow, this post has no point...god I'm posting just like Nolu *cringes*

this is what i have learned by watching other drivers....
1. if there is no turn arrow, the red light is the signal to make a left.

2. whether or not there is a turn arrow, red means 3-4 more cars go through.

3. signalling for a lane change is not necessary nor recommended.

4. if you drive anything smaller than a tahoe, you are invisible to most every other driver... especially if that driver is in a tahoe.

5. if you are in the left hand lane and about to miss your right hand turn, it is ok to come to a dead stop and still make the right. it doesnt matter that others were inconvienced nor that a wreck was nearly caused because of the abrupt stop, as long as you arent inconvienced all is good.

6. 99% of all drivers have no clue what a turning lane is for.

7. if you are headed to wal-mart, common sense and traffic laws are not applicable.

8. if you are on your cell phone, it is the responsiblity of the other drivers to make way for you.... regardless of how erratically you are driving.

9. courtesy waves are outdated and not to be used under any circumstances.

10. the left hand lane is actually for the slowest driver on the hwy.

11. no matter how many lanes there are, if you are late for work, all lanes will be impeded by drivers driving well under the posted speed limit.

12. (thanks to scdot engr. dept. for this one) major intersections are not redesigned to improve safety. they are redesigned to be as confusing as possible and hopefully cause more accidents.

13. it is perfectly acceptable to use the right hand turning lane as a passing lane if you think you can out run the car in front of you.

Probably someone who's sat behind some twit who WON'T pull up and get into position so that more than one person can get through per light cycle.

Not sure how the lights are where ya'll are but here you can get 5 cars through one turn signal easily. Some are only 3 cars but there's rarely more than that at those intersections anyhow.

Errrgghhhh . . . . now that really gets me. I've been known to stop and ask people why - they invariably tell me "oh, that tag/sticker/hanger is for my mother/aunt/husband/wife/father/etc." WELL, ASSHAT, YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD BE AWARE OF WHAT AN ASSHAT YOU ARE FOR USING THE HANDICAP PARKING WHEN YOU DON'T NEED IT!!

That is the way we were taught to drive in CA. in the 60's when the traffic there was already at the mass amounts. You could and were cited if you did not pull forward into the center of the intersection. It was the only way to get left turns completed and free up the left turn lane so that other lanes could be kept moving freely. People who sit back and wait are the ones at fault and need to be cited. If people would not jump lights as they do now as if they were driving at indy it would still work smoothly. You have the right to proceed even on a red if you are in the middle of the intersection !If people would slow down and stop on the yellow ( fat chance) they would be able to get several left turns cleared. Most of this nation had little or no traffic and freeways back in the 60's and are now trying to figure out what Californians have known for decades.

I've also been taught to pull into the intersection a bit while waiting to make a left turn. It irritates the sh!t out of me when some soccer mom sits exactly at the light and doesn't pull up, so by them time she makes it through the intersection, the light turns red.

I can't stand terrible drives either. I consider myself to be a pretty good driver. Never caused an accident and only got one speeding ticket back in 1989 for $67.29.

I grew up in Massachusetts and learned how to drive in traffic. I always pulled out halfway out into the intersection to make a left turn. If you didn't... no one would ever let you out. Obviously if there is a light involved I'd wait right there at the stop line and wait my turn.

What bothers me most with drivers are the ones on the cell phones or texting and not paying attention to their driving. Or the ones that tailgate you so bad you swear they're going to rear end you if you had to stop for any reason. Or the ones that don't use their blinker when they are turning or doing a lane change. Oh, I could go on and on with what drives me crazy with drivers.

Some people are a diseaster waiting to happen behind the wheel.
