We are leaving for Thanksgiving at my parent's house in a few minutes and we can't bring Holly with us:( . My parents don't like dogs and they really don't know we even have her yet so we don't want to bring her over. Anyways, I don't know what to do with her. I have to leave her crated because if we gate her off in the bathroom she will chew on the wall, and door (even though we give her plenty of things to chew on). We have a divider in the crate and we don't know if we should take it out or leave it in. She will be five months on the 14th of next month. We should be gone for about 6 hours. We can't leave her in the backyard because we really don't trust the fence and gate either. So, do we take the divider out or leave it in?

Hmmm...could you take her for a long walk to tirer her out?

That way she is tired and will sleep most of the time! I would take the divider out and put some blankets in there so if she does go to the bathroom it will soak into the blanket! :) And not in her fur.

Good Luck! :)

I'd take the divider out. She needs all the space she can get if she's going to be crated for that long, and in case she has an accident, she can go in the furthest corner and not be forced to sit in it.

yeah she did go on a good walk and I got a treat ball in there and other stuff. I hate leaving her this long but we have no babysitter for her today so she has to be. I usually take her everywhere (she went to the doctor's office with us even) but my parents are weird.

Uh, I know how this is, my father does no let dogs in his house, count yourself lucky though. My family is over 6 hours away from where I live. Thankfully my fiances family is nearby and he stays with them.
