i agree anyhting 3 days or less dont feed, over 3 days a vacation block is fine but remove it and do a partial water change the day you come home.

5 days id do a tetra vacation block, do a partial water change before, and then remove anything left of the block and do a partial water change when you get home

the biggest problem with the vacation blocks is they often give off more food than nessicary and it polutes the water (just like over feeding normally)

I'd just leave them and feed when you get back. Unless the fish are babies they should all be just fine. Vacation feeders are all rubbish and screw up the water a lot.

Ive seen those automatic feeders at the petstores.... they attach to the side of the tank and have a timer to release a certain amount of food

maybe check something like that out?
