If it's something nice that has to be ironed otherwise I look like crumpled me up, I iron it. But otherwise I just leave it the way it is.

Dreeza, your comment on Downy wrinkle releaser made me laugh. I had to take a public speaking class in college and we had to do a demonstration of a product in front of the class. So, I was going to do it on the wrinkle releaser. I took a damp t-shirt and I balled it up and put it under a mattress for like a week, and when I took it out, it was disgustingly wrinkled. And I used the wrinkle releaser, and it kinda didn't really work! LOL At least I ended up getting an A on the presentation!
LOL

really? hmmm, if you spray it in sweeping, and totally soak it in the stuff, ive gotten those REALLY bad creases to come out...you have to smooth it out too... then again, ive never attempted to do it on a crumpled shirt, that was under a mattress for a week!!!!

I just remembered when I had my freezer full of more shirts than food. I'd sprinkle and roll the shirts to iron, and if I didn't get them all done, stuck them in the freezer. Those 100% oxfords took forever to iron. Tom ,being in Men's clothing ,had to have perfect collars, cuffs and front .

Ah, Grammy . . . I remember my Mom doing that! And I remember me doing that for the ex-spousal equivalent  He thought he had to look just perfect when he would take a notion to go to work selling cars. White Pima cotton shirts - he didn't think Oxfords were good enough for him, and I've gotta admit, that heavy Pima cotton had the sweetest sheen to it! But thankfully, I've left the days of boiled starch and shirts in the freezer far, far behind me :D

I remember my mom doing that also Bubbatd. However, I am a rebel and believe that is why dry cleaners were invented. They iron everything so perfect. I do have an iron. It sits in the top of my closet. What kind of wife would I be if I didn't own one?

LoL, that reminds me. My grandma is one of those old-fashioned neatniks. Everything made of fabric was washed, starched and ironed. And I don't mean the new spray starch. I mean the good 'ol "stiff as a board" starch. Whenever my sis and I spent the night at Grandma's, we'd spend a good while punching the pillows on the bed until the were soft enough to actually act as a cushion! You could knock a person unconscious if you used one of those in a pillow fight!

my mum and stepdad both have full time jobs, we share the washing and send all the ironing to our ironing lady. just easier.

I used to iron all the time. Then I got married. I don't need to impress anymore, so I only iron for work usually. ;)

(Just kidding about the "no need to impress" part Tanya.) LOL

Wait....

You said "LADIES....." I suck. LOL

The pima shirts were more satisfying to iron. The oxfords were a P.I.T.A. as back then they were 100% cotton. Yes, it was the soak starch...EVERTHING cotton !! My son has always ironed his shirts as it rubbed off on him. I remember watching him once as he carefully put a crease on the cuff. Asked him why and he said that's the way new ones come ! I told him it was rather difficult to package a rolled cuff.!

Iron, what's that? No seriously I very rarely iron anything. It comes straight out of the dryer and is hung in the closet, the only things I iron are the things you absolutely have to.
