Considering the plastic wrap could block the intestines, yeah, I'd be worried. Just because there are no signs or problems now, doesn't mean something won't or can't happen. Call your vet and ask their opinion. If you can't get in touch with yours, call an emergency vet and tell them the situation. One way or another I'd try to get an answer very soon...just in case.

Keep an eye on the dog, especially when it goes to the bathroom and make sure that it passes the plastic wrap within the next 48 hours. But generally such a small amount of slippery material (and the fact that I've seen a basset pass a thong once) lead me to think your dog should be ok. Just keep a close on eye on her!

Let us know if everything comes out okay:) Mine ate a popsicle , Stick
and all. It never hurt her. We were very lucky. We should make a post
on strange things our dogs have eaten.

I will second that and add that LABS EAT EVERYTHING:D :lol-sign:
Im sure this isnt the first time nor will be the last you will catch your lab getting into food or even non food items. They have pretty hearty digestion just make sure to watch for it to pass. Crayons are fun they make rainbow colored poo;)

I had a cat along time ago that ate a sandwich baggie. :yikes:
I didn't know it, until it pooped and the bag was hanging out of him. It did not fully come out. I called our vet he said Do not pull it. Just let it be until the next time he has a bowel movement. So he walked around for most of the day with a plastic baggie hanging out of his butt. :yikes:

But I just wanted to mention.... if it would get stuck and the same thing happens to you....... Don't pull on it. :yikes:

The worst thing I've seen Mojo eat was aluninum foil.. and that had me in wide awake fear the entire night.

The worst things my ex-ACD mix ate included plastic baggies of pot, a tooth brush, and clothing. I think the pot was what really messed him up the most. Forget sandwich baggies! Do not let your dogs eat marijuana!

And then there was tilor who basically attempted to eat a pine tree in one sitting. It had been our christmas tree, and after we denuded it of bulbs, balls, and tinsel we threw it out... Tilor who was a labxshepherd mix thought that was the best christmas gift ever! Well, that and the parakeets...

A Thong!!!!!! :yikes:
Yup :D It was totally whole too, it's like the dog slurped it down like it was a piece of spaghetti. We couldn't stop laughing about it the entire day and because our policy is that we have to save all "unusual specimens" in the event the dog has to later go to the vet, we had to put it into a plastic baggy and save it for when the owner came to pick up. They were SOOOO embarrassed!

My Little "angelss" managed to devour an entire pound of hamburger wrapped in plastic wrap. The only evidence we found was a few shreds on the top of the stairs. But the next day Lilly pooped plastic and all was fine.

We had a barrel years ago and burned papers etc ....one winter our Rufus pulled out some paper toweling that has soaked with bacon grease..... next thing I knew was watching him after a poop with a foot of frozen paper towel hanging out his butt.!! You know folks ... we've ALL been pretty lucky !!
