Lab eyes

It seems lately that my Labs eyes seems to have excessive sleep in his eyes. He always had a bit of sleep in his eyes after a long sleep but know it seems a bit more than usual. On closer inspection the white of his eyes seems to be a bit blood shot. He is about 1 1/2 years old so just a young buck!!! Maybe I'm just over concerned. Has anyone ever had this happen? Is it common? I'm not an experienced dog owner, this is my first dog.

Maybe he has an infection, and I would take him to the vet.

Could be allergies or infection, either way he should see his vet.
