I have an 8 month old lab. I let him out this morning, and he came in with red exposed on the bottom part of his eyes. I live in the dust bowl of oklahoma, and everybody in this area is suffering from allergies this time of year. As our grass is all dried up, and we have nothing but dirt for backyards (lovely huh). I have had experience with cherry eye on another dog, and it doesn't look like cherry. Any advise as to what it may be, and if i can give him any eye drops tonight to help sooth, till we get to vet? There is a clear minimal amount of discharge, like water, not thick. Thank you

Sounds like allergies to me. Could be many things though.
Regular saline would be good to wash his eye out untill you get him into the vet:)
