We have a 10 year old lab [Priscella] that shows all of the signs of a cruciate ligament injury. Feel we have pretty well versed on our options and the effects of. Xrays have been taken to rule out other injuries. As of now because of the extent of the injury and her age we are reluctant to have the surgey and looking at swim and exercise therapy. She is on Previcox. We are also looking at a knee brace called the A-TraC Dynamic Brace which can be seen at their Wound Wear web site. Does anyone have any information on this brace? At present she can put weight on the leg when walking - at the higher gears she will pull it up. At her age and the degree of her pain we would rather not put her through an operation if there our other viable choices. Appreciate all feedback. Thanks

Sorry you didn't get a response to this question.

My 4 year old ,85 lb rescue dog has a sometimes rear limp. Xrays showed hips, knees were ok, (back???, ankle???) so VET rules out the Cruciate ligament. Can that actually be ruled out with xray? Wonder where that leaves us, me and my sometimes limpy girl.

Interesting to read about a knee brace, i had not heard of this, sounds like a good idea. I did know, however surgery was not always great for this injury, especially in larger dogs.

Wish you and yours the best. We are supplementing with flax oil and glucosamine sulfate.
