So I went to feed kieran today and when he stood up i noticed a sore on his leg. At first I was a little worried as it looks horrible, but i quickly realized that all it was was raw skin with a little bit of fur still left in the middle(at first glance the fur looked like infection). I thought of reasons he could have it and worried it might be maggots(for some reason even in the cold weather we have a couple of house flys floating around).
So i told him to lay down and he did. And I noticed that he puts his chin on his leg in the that spot. He always lays like that when hes resting. So from what I can tell, he has just worn it down. It doesn't seem to be bothering him at all, he doesn't lick it, and I touched it and he didn't even notice.
Iv looked around a little bit, and didnt find a ton of info so i want to make sure.
Im going to put a little Hydrogyn peroxide on it and then soak it in epsom salts. But what is a good topical cream to use if any?
And the main question here is how to I get him to stop. I dont want him to stop laying down obviously, but Id like him stop laying like that or just for the problem to go away. Any ideas?
