I have a question about kennel cough. Just say there's a dog at a shelter where they are suspecting kennel cough is going around. A rescue wants to pull said dog but are not 100% sure if he's got it or not.
What would be a recomended course of action before bringing the dog into a foster home with other dogs?

^ I agree. It spreads fast. When I got Dixie she came with kennel cough, and Lucy got it in the two or three days before we got her to the vet for it. Ended up with several hundred dollars worth of vet bills between the two of them. (Would've been even more expensive, but since we knew Dixie had it already after tests and X-rays, it was obvious what Lucy had, and we didn't have to pay for said tests and X-rays all over again).

You should keep the dog away from all other dogs for at least a week to make sure he's healthy.

My dog also had a bout with Kennel Cough when I brought him to the dog park. It was kind of scary at first because we were afraid the other dogs would get infected.

We had to isolate him and the vet prescribed a regimen of antibiotics, cough suppressant and bronchodilator. He also gave us an immune-boosting supplement which works great even for healthy dogs.

I've gone through this site Kennel Cough Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment | kennelcough.com and I learned everything I need to know from this site even before I went to the vet. ;)
