We did the same thing with Bruzer and Gunnar. Never invited them up unless it was on a lap. Neither of them even look at the couch. Bruzer gets in my lounge chair but that's ok. The leather couch is a no no. Gunnar will come upstairs at night and sit their, begging for an invite up, but we hardly ever do. All I have to do is snap my fingers and he jumps up and lays down next to you for a little while, then he gets down and sleeps on the floor.
