Does it ever bug you when people spell things wrong? I now that I am not a perfect speller, but it still bugs me when other people do it. I never correct them, because I dont want to be rude.

One of the words on here that I see spelled wrong is "pit".... people spell it like this... "pitt", lol. I dont want to sinlge anyone out, but I see that word all the time.

Not sure why it bothers me considering that I am a horrible speller myself. I bet anything that I have atleast one word one this post that is spelled wrong.

Is it "spelled" or "spelt"? I see people write "spelt", but I think "spelled" is correct, but I am not 100% sure, lol.

It is "spelled". "Spelt" is a type of grain.

LOL, I thought I was the only one. I am a huge English nerd though so grammar mistakes bother me more than spelling mistakes do. I find myself editing everything I read...it drives my husband crazy

I totally know how you feel though.. I think the biggest one for me is their and there.. it drives me mad when people use them in the wrong context.. though I'm sure I've done it quite a few times..

Edit: I just realized this might sound condescending.. I really didn't mean it that way.. I was just joking.

Plus.. you can feel free to poke fun at me when ever you feel the need!

It kind of does, especially when it's my manager, lol... But I'll take spelling errors over 'how r u' everyday.

I try my best to make sure things are spelled correctly and that I use halfway decent grammar.

I hate seeing when people misspell things. Sometimes I will retype the word in my reply and hope they see it spelled the correct way.

Hmmm... I'm a very good speller, have been since I was a kid. But for some reason when I type, I type so fast over 130wpm my fingers move ahead of my brain... Whatever though, everyone knows the point I'm trying to get across just like I understand other peoples..

Edit: Squidbert, I mess up the there, their all the time. Most of the time it's because the word that's coming next will be easier with either their or there. LMAO

Spelling doesn't bother me too much, as long as it's close, because I'm a bad speller too!
The only thing that bugs me is no punctuation whatsoever, Weird Caps In Sentences, or even lack of.
my eyes just dont read right when everything seems to stick together and theres no break in sight they just kind of skip over sentences and paragraphs and i cant read it so i dont reply

Spelling only bugs me if it's way off. Like if someone spells favorite, "faverit", it'll bug me a bit lol. There and their, & to and too also bug me if they're not used correctly!

My 8th grade english teacher had to point out to our class that anyways is not a word, so I always smile when I see someone add an 's' to the end. It doesn't bug me at all, just makes me laugh a little!

The only thing that really annoys me is when people type like this: "neway, wut r u doin?"

LOL... For the people I chat with on msn, they know all to well how I type before thinking.. I always type "brb bathroom" and as soon as I press enter i'm typing "sorry TMI" LMAO

I just think, gotta go bathroom, than oh shyte, that was too much information.. LOL

If I understand it then Im straight. One thing I dont do are apostrophies. Im to lazy to reach my finger ALL the way to the right. Just too far of a stretch, lol.

Yes...it sometimes bothers me a little. I'm a pretty good speller, but I know that in my haste on here, I sometimes spell words wrong!
