So heres the scoop
when our little boy pom poo( buddy is his name ) was born he was born with both ears flopping. After about a month or so both ears started to go directly up, very cute, but just latley , maybe 3 weeks or less just one of his little ears has gone floppy again. Is this normal? Hes perfectly healthy i dont quite understand it. as long as its normal it doesnt bother me. Does anyone know anything about this??

How old is he? I hear some ears start flopping when they're teething. Also, being a mix, he may have gotten one ear from each of his breeds. But it does take a while for erect ears to really stand up full-time anyway.

Yup that is normal. I have a puppy whose ears have gone all variations of up, down, halfway, even inverted like devil horns. There isn't anything wrong with your pup, he's just growing.

mac had a period of a few weeks when she was growing up that nearly every day her ears would changed stance. lol very cute.
but they both eventually decided that being straight up and as BIG as they could get was the way to go

During teething and growing dog ears can do all sorts of things. My pup had one up/one down, both down, both up and every which way when she was growing. Now she has one up and one semi-prick. Our male sheltie was taped and glued when he was young so I'm not sure what kind of ears he would have had naturally. and the papillons started out with floppy ears but both of them had fully erect ears by the time we took them home.

back up again!

happy to report that buddy's ears are both standing straight up again, but i wont be surprised now if they happen to flop over from time to time during his puppy months. :lol-sign:

My mom has a Westie and sometimes her ears stick up, sometimes they don't, sometimes one does the other ones doesn't. When ones up, ones down it looks like she is winking at you...it's so darn cute
