Had another seizure at work...
had one a lil while ago that landed me with a few stitches on my forehead, but this one was just beyond embarrassing

I had a seizure in a bathroom stall at work.. I went in there to change into my work uniform and it took 2 hours for somebody to stumble upon me (nobody knew I came in..everybody just assumed I wasn't coming since I hadn't clocked in or anything and just went straight to change)

So basically I spent 2 hours shirtless on the bathroom floor of a restaurant. It wasn't until a mom needed the baby changing station and needed the big handicapped stall did she knock and then look under the door to see me lying there and called for help
In come every single person at my workplace to then kick the door open and wake me up
and of course I just had to be wearing nothing but jeans and a bra, because this situation wasn't embarrassing enough without me being shirtless.

Most of the time, I am positive about this whole seizure thing... Its not as bad as it could be, I get that..
but days like today, I'm just plain sick of it.

and due to ANOTHER concussion, I am stuck being babysat at a room I should probably just start paying rent for at my school hospital
Womp :(

Just wanted to vent a bit. Not the best way to start the day at all..

Ah geez, yeah, not the greatest way to start off the day.

Too bad you can't rig up a necklace or headband or something that registers when you're falling/prone for more than a few seconds and sends out some type of alert. :(

They do have those safe alert button necklace things, that sense when you fall and automatically ask if you are alright, and then if they do not respond they call for help...

((((HUGS))))

I can't imagine how frustrated you have for to feel :(

I was thinking hard to insert a joke about my grandma always telling me not to wear underwear with holes in them just in case I got into am accident... but I'm afraid with my level of tact, it would come out completely wrong. So instead, imagine I said something witty and comforting that made you smile just a little itty bit.

At least you had a bra on, and you know you looked good ;)

Maybe you should have a new nickname . . . "Sleeping Beauty" :)

This is one of the reasons we love you, Jules :)

Yeah, but then you have the expense of an ambulance call...I was thinking of something that just sent out a loud beeping or something so people around could hear it.

Thanks so much everyone :)

As for the necklace/bracelet kind of things.. we have tried them. The ones where you have to push a button, I don't get enough of a warning to click the button. and the motion ones just don't work well for me, they are great for older people since they don't move fast or a lot unless they are falling.. lol but for someone who bounces around and runs and just trips and moves erratically all the time, the thing CONSTANTLY goes off and the call centers can't continue to deal with the constant alerts as well as the fact that they can't send help to where you are (the pendant isn't GPS enabled)... they just send it to your home, and I very rarely need help at home. Plus the ambulance expenses..

and yea lol thank goodness I did laundry yesterday so was wearing one of my nice bras!! Momma was right about that one.. you never know whose gonna see em! lol

:( I am so sorry. I can't even imagine how frustrating that would be. I still can't believe how positive you are about it, even now. I would be a nervous wreck all the time. I wish I had something helpful to say, but I don't. (((((((((((HUG)))))))))))) I hope eventually you'll find some kind of medication, or surgery or something that will help you. Until then, continue to have the outlook that you have, and be positive about everything! As I've said before, it takes a really special person to go through what your going through, and be so positive.

Maybe you need some kind of alert gerbil that fits in your pocket and finds the nearest mountie to come to your rescue and give you the kiss of life.

Maybe he's naked too.

Not the gerbil...

Sucks eh? But keep smiling, I'm sure there's a solution out there, you just haven't worked it out yet :)

Oh Fran! I'm so sorry. Your poor head. Try not to feel embarrassed. Everyone knows by now what a female body looks like. At times like those, nobody in their right mind would think a thing about not having a shirt on. They had to be very worried about you. I'm glad you weren't seriously injured when you fell. It will be so wonderful when you have a seizure alert dog. Then you'll have more warning, right? And he can go for help or maybe an alert device would work better in that scenario. It definitely was a crappy way to start your day. I hope something extra nice happens to you today. ((((hugs))))

Yuck - that is definitely a very bad day. =< I don't have any suggestions, just hugs...
I kinda like Dizzy's idea about the gerbil though. Or you could be like Giselle in Enchanted and have a chipmunk sidekick!

Thank you :) and really, people always say things like "oh my god if it was me, I'd wanna cry!" and stuff but really when it is you, there's not much you can do but deal with it the best you can lol I learned pretty quickly that wallowing in self pity in my sweat pants eating ben & jerrys did no good lol

Thanks, this really helped :) I woke up super embarrassed but nobody had even seemed to notice that I wasn't wearing a shirt when I woke up, everybody was like "OMG ARE YOU OK!?!?" and I was like "um...can somebody pass me a shirt..or something.." lol

I probably won't have any warning at all still, but I will have the dog there to wake me up so I don't have to wait for someone to find me.. and if I am injured and don't get up, the dog will know to bark and get somebodies attention so they can get help.. its a lot of peace of mind! plus I'll finally be able to go places and have a reasonable amount of freedom :D

What a lousy way to start the day! I hope your poor head is OK; all these concussions are worrisome. Perhaps you should wear a football helmet whenever alone? SUCH a fashion statement that would be.

I wouldn't worry about being seen shirtless. a) Most people were focused on you and hardly noticed, and b) those who did notice were so struck by your beauty that all they were thinking was "WOW!" Now if you'd been totally topless...
