My lovely cat Jerry died early this morning. I haven't been around Chaz for a while but I am in pieces and I know at least here I will be understood. I can't stop crying and work is impossible so instead I wrote the story of what happened to Jerry.

I owe a few of you here an apology. Those who are so staunchly against allowing your cats outdoors. I know I've been in the great indoor-outdoor cats debate on this forum before and I never expected to have my eyes opened on that issue quite so heartbreakingly.

You can see the full story here... My Cat Died Today

I'm so sorry. Jerry is at peace now with my Bear. I know the two of them are best friends.

Thank you. Jerry was beautiful. He was also my cuddle cat. Lili is more aloof. Skye is too big to sit on my lap when I am working at the computer and Lili doesn't care too. I miss him so much.

I'm sure Jerry and Bear will be great friends, Barb. It's nice to think of them together.

Rip Dear Jerry. I hope the angels will cuddle with you until one day when you can be with your loved ones again.

Skye . . . that is a terrible, terrible loss.

I lost my Gonzo to FIV - years ago, before there was a vaccine. He was an indoor cat. He wasn't exposed to other cats outside. I can only surmise that he picked it up at the University's veterinary hospital when he had surgery there.

So, don't try to second guess yourself. While Jerry's life wasn't long enough (are their lives ever long enough for us?), it surely sounds as if it was a full and happy one.

skye... I am very sorry to hear about your cat... your story brought me to tears... there really is nothing to say to comfort you at this time but try not to second guess everything you did... hindsight is 20/20 they say, everyone would change things if they could look back in time... you did the best you could for your baby at the time and that is all anyone can do.
