    I saw that photo awhile before the rescue and it really tore me up since I had a Sheltie in the past. There are many pets and farm animals suffering in the evacuation zone.

    I hope the rescue workers will be O.K. if they wore some protection, especially masks. The dogs having spent more time in the area might have health consequences, but you can just take it one day at a time.

    How wonderful! Shelties are marvelous little dogs, very popular in Japan. How wonderful that these people risked so much to save them.

    They should be ok. They really weren't there long; they've increased their cancer risk a tiny ammount. But it was a wonderful thing to do, none the less!
