I hurt my foot, possibly really bad. I put my foot down on the retaining wall in the yard and slid off it. Scraped up my leg and landed hard on my foot.
The ankle is fine, but the arch isn't. It's swollen on the right side for sure and maybe a little on the left, not a lot, but definitely swollen. No visible bruising just yet but it only happened about four hours ago. By the time I decided I really should go to convenient care, it was five minutes until they closed, so I couldn't go. I don't want to go to the ER, even though I'm afraid they will try and send me if I go to convenient care tomorrow. They can't do x-rays at convenient care. I tried to see if the athletic doctor's office was open on the weekend, but they aren't.
So I guess I'm going tomorrow and will see what they say. If they want an x-ray, maybe it can wait until Tuesday instead of having to go to the ER. I can put weight on the foot, but it hurts. If I flex it a certain way, it hurts. Not the ankle itself, I can rotate my ankle all over the place and that's fine, just if I push down it hurts - I'm assuming it's the muscle in the arch that I've damaged that gets stretched when I do that rather than anything involved with the joint.
I have agility at the beginning of July so Auggie needs training, and Payton is entered in rally at the same trial, and he still needs work on that. Plus I've been doing agility stuff with both puppies and hate to stop. I already feel like we're behind. Everybody else who got puppies last year is already talking about their debut trials...
I am so incredibly upset and my mom doesn't understand why. I'm taking a couple of months off running anyway, but I've been going to the gym and doing cycling classes and a little bit of other strength training stuff, and now if I can't be on my foot, I won't be able to do that.
I know this probably sounds crazy, but I seriously started crying a little while ago. I'm an active person and I love BEING active. Hitting pause doesn't suit me at all and has me majorly upset, especially because an endorphin rush after a good workout is about the only good thing I have going on right now. And it's my right foot so I'm not even sure how well I can drive, if I can drive at all... so I have to hope everybody else in the house doesn't go shopping for twelve hours tomorrow morning so somebody can at least take me to convenient care so they can hopefully tell me how much I've hurt myself.
just ugh. wah wah wah whine whine whine.
