for the perennial garden I got more purple astilbe & hostas...moved some ferns. in pots and my wheelbarrow I planted purple & red salvias, yellow, orange, marigolds and salvia. multicolored impatiens...and have red and white impatiens for my large brick planter in front of the porch. got more scarlet dianthus...some multi celosa..and sweet allysum (sp?) that I plant in 2 pair of old tennies. would you believe nobody had wave petunia!! last year Lowe's had a million. I want them for the windowboxes...but may have to stick to impatiens. I've been a busy me today, and now I'm ready to unwind. :) I stuck to just the pots just in case one last frost creeps in. I'm planting my sunflower seeds tomorrow. also some large zinnias and nasturtiums (heck, I can't spell...toooo tired..lol) talk to everyone tomorrow! Happy Night!! I hope I can post pics again one of these days. the gardens will be awesome when all the daylillies bloom...purple coneflower...sweet william...coreopsis..

Grammy's had her hands in the dirt today too....but not to your extent !!! (maybe an age thing?) .....I have a huge pot on my front porch (asbestos/concrete) that I usually put my indoor fig tree in for the summmer ( stick a cut evergreen in for the fall/winter. last year , I didn't want to struggle with the fig and just put impatiece in it with a hanging basket above. Stuck the fig tree out in it's pot in the back and actually hoped it would die. It didn't, so I cut it back and brought it in last fall. Well I decided today to put it in the big pot again ( I wrap the smaller pot with plastic and bury the whole thing ) . Now this tree is 7 ft. tall and I'm 5 ft if stretching ( Grammy's shrinking ) As I was hauling it out, on it's side, the whole thing came out of the pot unto the carpet. Two hours later, the tree was happyily settled in it's summer pot with impatience gracing it's surface, and 3 other pots on the brick wall with impatiece and vinca vine ..... the carpet vaccuumed and Grammy's tired !!! I did do 8 other plantings but no good story.!

My roses are blooming like mad. The creeping thymes and oregano made it through the winter just fine and are a fragrant carpet under the roses. The Fairy roses are COVERED in pink buds!

Of course, it rained just as my Souvenir de Malmaison roses bloomed out . . . they're my favorites and the rain just spoils them

My poor Lambs' Ear keeps fighting back. It should have spread all over by now, but for some reason it keeps dying back to one little patch. The catmint doesn't have that problem though, lol!

By the end of summer I should have plenty of columbine seeds for anyone who wants some for next Spring :D

I'm so jealous! It's been rainy here and only been around 62 degrees. The outlook is the same for the next week. We are usually in the 70's by now. I really can't wait for the warmer weather to come.

Hopefully, I'll be able to do some planting in another week.

LOL! I think you've got more variety than anyone, Smkie. I've got mostly roses. Anything else is pretty much just to accent the roses, although I do have three lilacs in the front of my lavendar house. I planted an oak leaf hydrangea and there's another hydrangea at the side and a bank of hostas and ferns. My camellias are finally getting big. They had gorgeous blooms in the early spring. I've got to move some lily of the valley this fall, and some Siberian iris.
