has anyone seen this show? last night there was a pomeranian named Teddy, he made Milo look laid-back and passive. I don't know HOW in the world anyone would let their family pet get like that. He was very much a one-person dog (to the wife) and nearly had the husband's face off every time he tried to kiss her (and i don't think the dog spent much time out of her arms). Thankfully, the trainer worked wonders with him.

it's pretty sad when you're glad your dog is ONLY psycho and not completely demonic.

as much as it drives me nuts that people don't feel the need to train their little dogs, i was rather glad it was just a pomeranian, because i'm pretty sure if the thing weighed more than 20 pounds it would have killed someone, that's how bad it was. Amazingly, no one reported the dog, because it would have been euthanized right away.

I don't watch much TV anymore, but I have seen ONE episode. It was a Bichon I believe..........and it was OUT OF CONTROL. There was a husband and 2 sons + the mom. The dog belonged to the mom. The men of the house didn't want anything much to do with the dog because they considered it "GIRLY" LOL.............but by the end of the show, they got it all sorted out ;)

Oh man Milo, you ain't seen nothing yet.

I saw an episode with two very big lab/great dane mixes.

Their owners spent more money on the DOG'S gourmet food then her own son. She spent hours making rack of lamb with pasta for these two dogs, while her son got left to eat a frozen TV dinner.

Another episode had a husky that was brought home at like 5 weeks. This dog was horrid, it would literally BITE the girl's face and snap at her, often for no reason at all.

i saw the labXdane one. Atleast they weren't complete monsters, just incredibly spoiled and out of control. and the husky sounds like the pom. The husband would sit on the couch and the dog would bite it. He has bite wounds all over him because the dog didn't want him sleeping on the bed. The woman actually made her husband sleep on the couch because the dog didn't want him in bed with her.

I saw that one, Teddy Pom Pom and another doggie.

I'll be damned if my old man would sleep on the couch... he'd kick the dog out of the bed his damned self!

It probably was the Pom that bit the crap out of me. Harumph. These are dogs I really do not like. I see a Pom, I head for the hills.

I could do one of those shows though. It would be very short. It would start with "It's Me Or The Dog" and end with, "Start Packing".

I saw Teddy Pom Pom and was horrified. Radar tried that "no one gets on the bed with me and Mommy" trick one time. He was removed from the bed and marched back to his crate. He lost all rights to the bed for several months, until we were very clear on who ran the household.
I would die of embarassment if I let my dog get that bad.

And that my friend is why Kevin will NEVER say something like that to me ;)

Most people consider my dogs spoiled, I consider them well cared for. Now Kevin's mom could do that show with her Chi........She is one that says I spoil my dogs because Orson sleeps on our bed and I cook for them, they have plenty to do (inside and outside), and lots of love. Our dogs are trained, and know enough not to hump eveyone that walks through the door!

If every episode was as bad as the one I saw with the little Bichon, I couldn't bare to watch every week.........it would drive me up the wall!

What's the trainer like? I've head of this but have never seen it. What network is it on?
Animal Planet has it... not sure the times though.

The trainer (Victoria Stillwell?) seems like a good trainer to me. She isn't into the "smack the sh!t out of that dog" type trainer.

She often uses loud noises to break the dog's attention ( you know, ANT! NO!, and I believe she used an air horn with a louder dog to get him to stop). Positive reinforcement too!

The one I liked the best was the 4 or 5 dogs, 4 of them poms that were eating ice cream and having afternoon tea. She got the owner to quit all that and feed them a normal doggie diet. That was just crazy. I'm not too sure of her wearing that black outfit with those boots though. Kinda dominatrix-esque.

They show repeats all of the time. I bet channel surfing will find it on. It usually coincides with the Monks o'Skete.

I like the one with the Monks of New Skete better, but they do often show back to back so I watch them both. It is really hard to watch sometimes, because you can't imagine how somebody would let their dog get so bad... I guess some people just REALLY don't know.

I think Angel Chicken is right, her name is Victoria Stillwell or Stromwell? or something like that? - she has a book out with the same title (It's Me Or The Dog) that I haven't read.

Most of you guys wont know or care who Jodie Marsh is. Hell I know who she is and I still don't care, but let's just say she's a big-boobed wannabee who got some milegae out of this programme.

Gobsmackingly enough she didn't want her four chi's living with her in her new house because they pee everywhere but worse she decided it would be better to dump them on mum and dad and let them pee and fight all over their house instead. In steps Victoria Stillwell and in weeks good old Jodie has a well behaved pack.

There is a series of three vids on youtube. Look up Me or My dog.

Ah yeah, I watched most of these.

Learnt a few tricks too.

But she did stir up debate on the UK forums - which trainer DOESN'T?

She's an actress turned dog trainer, who actually lives in the US.

Oh I bloody love that show. Victoria is great, strictly positive reinforcement and the changes in the dogs' behavior is nothing short of a miracle in some cases.

Compared to a show I have seen, Hershey listens MUCH better than the dogs on those shows, thank goodness!! I saw a show with the two Labs, that were completely out of control! And I'm glad Hershey isn't one of those dogs!! He has some of their problems but not all of them, since he is much better behaved than that. But, I learn something off the shows. ;) But, shes great! Love it, love it, love it!
