The oil has been brought into Galveston. They found tar balls from the oil washed ashore.
One newspaper said it could have been brought in by a ship, but they are keeping a look out for the possibility of more.

It really makes me ill to think of all the life that is being lost from this. I am so sad, life as we know it, could be disappearing.

I have been to padre (sp? ) island twice, back before it became so full of tourist stuff. A beautiful place. I can't imagine the oil and what it destroys, or that it could go on for our lifetime. I am so sorry for all of you, a tragic loss in all directions.

And yet, there's still no forward movement on setting up distribution and sale points for alternative fuels for cars that have been viable for DECADES.

I don't know what it's going to take to break the spell fossil fuels hold over us.

THIS. It pisses me off that the technology is there, it's just not being used :(

Agreed. I'm afraid it might be when the cost of gas becomes prohibitive. :(

I am sickened at the thought of all the damage that is occurring every second that this continues--the effects are and will continue to be devastating in so many ways.
