How do you get rid of the ITCH of bug bites??? I have one on my ankle, and usually not letting myself scratch and then if I've been good about it the whole day giving myself a few minutes to scratch it works. But not this bug bite... It ITCHES. PAINFULLY. And it's in a place where I normally rub my heel against, so it has become a habit that didn't bother me until now because I can't stop. My ankle is bruised and bloody, and it still itches. Please help. :(

I usually just scratch them until they bleed, and then they don't itch anymore! :D

But I think what you're actually SUPPOSED to use is cortizone cream. And maybe take a Benadryl.

Spit doesn't work too terribly well. And the afterbite doesn't work well on me--it relieves the itch for maybe 1/2 an hour and then I have to re-apply, and if I keep applying it gets sore and red and nasty and my skin cracks. It's disgusting. I'm not sure if that's an effect of the afterbite (it did that to my mother, too, but only after one application) or an allergic reaction to it.

I have also heard the meat tenderizer works, Grammy. I just don't have any LOL.

Summer? I'm trying the toothpaste. If you're kidding me, no more flower pictures for you. Because toothpaste is gross.

I keep tubes of Benadryl cream in my glove box and on my nightstand; works within just a couple of minutes and most bites never start itching again for me.
