itchy skin/diarrhea

My new pup just came home from the shelter two days ago. She was infested with fleas which are now gone but she has scabs and scratches all over and still constantly itches, especially behind her legs in the 'armpit' area. Also, she has diarrhea. I know this is from switching from whatever they fed at animal care and control (the lady in the office wasnt sure what they were feeding) to my dog food. I think both of these will probably just take time to clear up but figured Id see if anyone had any miracle cures or ideas on how to help her adjust better. Any advice is welcome

To help her with her itchies give her a bath with oatmeal shampoo. This is usually very soothing and helps alot!

Her diarrhea is probably a combination of the switch of food as well as a case of nerves. If it continues a vet visit would definitely be in order.

You might want to get her checked for mange. We got our puppy from a rescue shelter and she was itching. At first we though it was food allergies, then we though it was a bacterial infection. After everything she was still itchy. They did another skin scraping and found a mite. So now she is being treated for derm. mange.

I have to take her in for her last set of puppy boosters so Ill def ask about it then. It seems to have gotten less severe, so hopefully it was just left over scabs from the fleas

the fleas produce the hyper sensitive reactions in the affected animals. Hence, the animals infested with fleas start severely scratching of body. Many times, the scratching is so severe and the skin becomes more hyperemic and dermatitis occurs in the affected areas, Drugs like ivermectin are highly useful and are available in both injection and oral form in addition to the solution form that can be applied on the skin.
