Today I took Isabelle my new Aussie puppy to the pet store for the first time. She doesn't get her shots until this coming week so I didn't put her down on the floor. I held her most of the time and when I had to check ingredients and such on kibble bags I put her in the cart. She was really unphased by the whole experience, didn't whine or act afraid at all. A few people fussed over her and she wagged her tail but didn't get overly excited or try to get in their faces at all. I think it was a good experience but I just wanted to be certain. Is this the type of behavior I'm looking for and should reward? Thanks in Advance!

I loved taking my dogs when they were puppies for lots of people to say hello for socialization. Just say "good girl".

If she is happy to see people and is interested in them and not shying away, that is definitely behaviour to reward. :)

Yes, I think she's really being a good girl. When my dogs were little and out for the first time, they behaved the same. It changed though when they got used to the environment.
