I get up at about six thirty and then spend 10 mins poking the dogs awake so I think that i can safely say that they are not morning dogs lol

Orson? Nope. He can sleep and sleep and sleep as long as he's warm and comfy. We normally get up by 6 am (through the week for work/school) and that dog will sleep in until 8 am if nobody MAKES him come down! 8am is breakfast.........so actually, it's hard telling how long he'd stay in bed if I'd serve him there! :rofl1:

Phoebe is a "get up whenever you guys are up" kind of girl :) She doesn't wake us, but when she hears signs of life, she is happy to get up and join in.

Boomer and Kassie used to be early birds, up at 5 am, saying "come on, we need to go potty". Now it's not so bad, though I'm an morning person so I'm up before they are and they usually are ready to go out at around 7am.

Tilly, on the other hand, is the opposite of Kassie and Boomer. We adopted her when she was 6yrs old. The first months she was here and we were up at 6am to go out to potty, she's lift her head from the bed all drowsy, and I could tell she was thinking "what the heck! you want me to get up now?" lol. She's happy staying in bed till 8am if I'd let her.

Maya is a morning dog during the week. I haven't needed the alarm clock in the almost 2 years we have had her. She is consistently up at 7 (6 since the time change :)) and I get a wet nose to my face. But....on the weekends, if we stay up past her bedtime and don't go to sleep until one or two am, she will sleep all day!

Morgan is not really a morning dog. He will get up when I do in the morning (~5:30am), because I feed him breakfast first thing when I get downstairs. After breakfast and potty, though, he goes back upstairs to bed.

Teagan is as well "I will get up whenever you get up" kinnda dog! She does whine to be let out in the morning, but its never a constant time every day. And as soon as I take her outside she is ready to go back to bed if I want too.

When i am at my parents they usually keep Teagan after I go to bed but to play with their "granddaughter' she always after an hour is whinning at my door to come back into bed with me. Shes a mamas girl.

Bailey gets up when I do. Sometimes he'll magically know when I'm just barely awake (though still unmoving), and pop up to say hi!

I would be very sad if I had an early morning dog. Loss of sleep is one of my bigger concerns when thinking about having kids, lol.

My version of 'sleeping in' is now 8 am.... Do you think I have morning dogs? lol.

Psyche's up and READYYYYY to go at 6 most mornings - on weekends she'll give me to 8, if I'm lucky.

Bella will give me to 8 or 9 ish...

Now, Zoey... She'd sleep all day. :p

Auggie's breeder lives on a farm so they were up early to get chores and stuff done, so he would get up super early too. These days, he doesn't. He'll sleep in as long as I do, LOL. In fact, sometimes in the morning when I go to get him out of his crate, he just lays in there and kind of blinks blurrily at me whenever I walk by... it's those days I really wish I were a dog...

I have a mixture of both...and it's frustrating sometimes.

Brawt is a morning dog - if he is his crate longer than he feels he needs to be in the morning after he hears us wake up he starts talking. If talks for more than a few minutes Nomi starts talking too... Okay, fine I'll get up!

Charlies and Kai give me dirty looks when I tell them to go outside and potty. Sometimes they flat out refuse and crawl back under the covers. Love it!

But, if I allow them in bed with me after they've been outside they all turn into mid-afternoon dogs. I guess the big bed just makes them sleepy.

Crazy dogs!

Buster loves to be up first thing, but he'll stay quiet and just lie still waiting for me to wake up. Sometimes in his crate, sometimes he sneaks onto the bed.
He tends to just sleep on and off all day and all night, if I want to go out he's up and ready to go but he doesn't snore all night, he just naps on and off and keeps moving around.

One of mine gets up with the birds. The other drags herself out of bed when breakfast is ready.

They all sleep until I get up, and when I do, Dance is always super excited and can hardly wait to start the day. Ripley's happy to be up, but he needs to stretch and yawn a few times before he gets moving. Not sure what Keira's like in the mornings as she sleeps with my mom, but I know she puts herself back to bed after breakfast if she has the opportunity.

My dogs are both like me... they can sleep forEVER, if they're allowed to.

Gonzo will get up when ever I get up. Fozzie, on the other hand, takes a long time to rise and shine. I have to start making food to get him up before noon. He will grunt protests if I try to drag him out of bed. :p If I have to work at 6, I come home at 1 and Fozzie will be where I left him. He would sleep in until noon even as a puppy!

Honestly, it's a novel idea to have a dog as an alarm clock, but I would be soooo annoyed if my dogs woke me up early. I puppysat a dog for a week who HAD to get up and go out at 6 am, and I almost gave him back the first morning. haha!

The three chis sleep with us, and would stay in bed all day if we let them... they wake up when we wake them up, and Rylie is always the last one up... lol. She sleeps under the covers, and I have to lift the blanket off of her to get her to wake up.

Rory is up by 7am... he barks, and Ian takes him out... he doesn't ever seem to sleep past 7!

Isn't it funny.....I mean Rylie's sleeping ritual! She's last one up, you have to nearly shake her out with the sheets........but I bet if someone tapped ever so lightly on the door she'd be there in a FLASH!

(orson is the same)

Dogs are so silly :lol-sign:
