Freakishly clean? Shiny windows, vacuumed seats and floor, gleaming mats on the floor, clean interior, even a vacuumed ceiling......

I HAVE to be the sane one in my family. I mean, really, I'm crazy but in comparison to my mother on some days... I love her, I really do, but she drives me nuts.

We went to breakfast at the little shop near our house, took Middie with us.... he was in back, and we got hung up in the store due to a few things, and it took us 20-30 minutes to get back out to him. He was fine, had his bully stick to chew on and people to watch, but had jumped out of the back and up into the front seats, brought the bully stick with him, and *GASP* shedded and drooled a bit. I know, I know, shocking.

My mother flipped out.. because there was some hair on the seats. And a bit of droll that I wiped off, also on the seats. She spent the drive home ranting about it, and when we got home we spent two hours cleaning the car from top to bottom. Not that it was actually dirty, but when the dirt is all in your head it's amazing how much time you can spend cleaning.

I wanted to bang my head against a wall.. I still do.. I don't get her obsession with having a car that is so clean that a few hairs on the seats are the equivalent of a bomb going off.

/vent

So, do any of you clean your cars? Everyone I know has a normal car.. I swear, I miss a little dirt here and there.

Edit: I almost forgot.... I swear Middie reads my mind.. when my mother pronounced the car as spotless and we were ready to finally go, I took Middie on a potty trip.. I had the leash slack and was zoning out, and as we walked by the car it took me a bit to realize he wasn't with me. He had jumped in the back seats, leaving a trail of muddy paw prints and was being chased out by my mother with a vacuum.. ROFL! I swear he read my mind, that is exactly what I was wanting to do.

hahaha.. omg.... She would have had a total meltdown at the sight of my car before i got pregnant.
I got pulled over one time becuase someone had told the cops that i was planning to rob a gas station that I worked at, and they had to question me.
Well that led to my car being searched. it litterally took them an hour to search my car becuase it was sooo full of junk. people couldnt sit in the backseat, and the trunk was stuffed full of stuff. hahaha.. now, it's MUCH cleaner but not sparkling. I think i have a plastic box, a telephone book, a few toy cars, a pair of my son's socks, several ink pens and lighters, a few cd's and probably a few popcans in the floorboard in the back... it needs to be vacuumed but not too bad.... she would flip out.

My car is clean.. I keep it tidy, not microscopic though. When we did agility in a barn, I had a blanket on the passenger seat.. I sometimes do the same on nasty days.. I vacuum occasionally, and armourall my dash and such, but I care more it's uncluttered, rather than spotless.. I hate people with a years worth of junkfood detritious in their cars if I have to go with them somewhere..

She costs, Blue. :p And besides, I do a better job.

Actually, we tried to have the cars detailed a year ago.. paid nearly $150 bucks.... they sprayed this grease all over the leather seats and interiors and pronounced it done. Took hours of scrubbing to even get some of the grease off, and for weeks after that my mom and I kept going back with soap and washcloths. It was SO gross.. she had a grease print on her pants when he came home. Ick.

I am embarrased to say this but my car is such a mess that there is for real NOWHERE to put your feet unless you are the driver.

Funny thread. My son actually asked me to clean my car out Sat, night before we picked up a friend of his who was going to ride in the back seat. Dog bag, dumbbells, leashes, change of shoes, towels, granola bar wrappers, water bottles... this past weekend it looked like I live in my car and he was rather embarrassed!

i can't have passengers because it's so dirty. unfortunately you don't have a choice for 'toxic waste... only peoplewho have built up an immunity can tolerate it'

my car is pretty nasty, haha. I volunteer at a barn twice a week and have a pair of boots and sneakers i wear there...and they get thrown in the back of my car, along with the coat i wear there. My floor is covered with water bottles/papers/wrappers...

i cant remember the last time i cleaned the inside or outside of my car, hahaha...each time i think about doing it, it rains, and then well, it looks clean!!

i figure i'll get it cleaned (or *maybe* clean it myself) before i go pick up my spanish boy since he is kinda a clean person...that isnt until nov. 28th, haha

Mine is pretty bad. I throw any garbage away a couple times a week, so it isn't so much wrappers and stuff. The backseat is Meg's - a couple dog beds, a few toys. The backseat floor is storage - horse feed, extra clothes, shoes, leashes, bottles of water and bowls. The front is usually pretty uncluttered, because I often have passengers. It really needs a dusting and vacuuming. The worst part is, because I often leave the windows down at the barn, there are flies:eek: .

My van? Absolutely not. Nose prints and slobber on the windows. The outside has been washed ONE time in the last 2 years. I wash the windshield so I can see.

I really should give it a bath. The rain doesn't do a very good job.

Yes, yes it is. It is nearly spotless...........

BUT

I just went to the car wash yesterday, heheheheh, it was my day off and I did a few little things that needed done.

Now had you posted this question BEFORE I went to the car wash, then NO, it was not filled with junk, but the windows were dirty and it needed vacuuming BADLY and of course there was road dust all over the outside :)

For some reason,

OTHER PEOPLES THINGS are always in my car. There was a huge, cumbersome, annoying heavy box in the backseat for weeks. I had no idea what it was. When i asked my mom she said "oh it's my name runners for my real estate signs."

SHE DOESN'T DRIVE MY CAR? WHY WERE THEY IN THERE?

The car is my rolling office. I have receipts, phone numbers, notepads, random business cards, pens and other stuff in there. It's honestly not too bad, but it's certainly not spotless. Heh, I don't worry about washing it too much---it's that wonderful gray color that can go months between washings without actually looking dirty. :D
